Sasha Grey's book is called the Juliette Society, and it was obviously rushed to help a publisher try to capitalize on the "50 Shades of Grey" phenomenon.
It seems that the editor or publisher must have pushed her to increase word count or length, and there are long passages that must have come from listing every word that she could have used more handily... and the editor accepted that way to bulk it up, instead of insisting on a story that made sense, in a consistent voice.
I did not make it far enough into the book to get to the sex scenes, but I am told they are hot.
Sasha was a great writer of short personal stories and social critiques on MySpace, and it would be awesome if she would study writing and try again.
The 50 Shades thing sparked real interest in BDSM and erotica in women in all parts of the U.S. in a way that will create a persistent market for works better than the mass market has seen, and it contributes to more newcomers to scenes like FetLife...
I still believe in Sasha to some extent, but I've been searching for the next Sasha Grey, and at least as far as writing erotica goes, Kitten Boheme has her beat. As for cocksucking and DP go, I haven't seen a screen test, but I am sure it would be volcanic.Comment
