Probably safe to say the accident report will contain the phrase "speed was a contributing factor"

Not to mention the lamp post that jumped in front of him...

seeandsee 12-27-2013 02:32 PM

Some link to news article or something?

Car just had a couple of scratches on before trumpton came and ripped it apart with their fancy toys.

adultchatpay 12-27-2013 08:39 PM

Speed kills, that's for sure. Luckily for him.

ErectMedia 12-27-2013 09:38 PM

I'm gonna guess he hobbled away over walking :2 cents:

Manoll 12-27-2013 09:45 PM

This is unbelievable! How could anyone be alive after crashing a car in half..

When I say 'walked away' I didn't mean to suggest he marched up the road looking for an open Burger King...

there's no news that i can drum up that mentions the extent of the driver's injuries other than he survived.

The vehicle left the road and collided with a large motorway sign at junction 9a near Great Chesterford at about 14:00 GMT on Tuesday.

No-one was trapped in the vehicle when fire crews from Cambridge, Newport and Saffron Walden arrived.

Firefighters gave first aid to two people at the scene.
It does sound like they are talking about 2 people from another car or maybe shocked witnesses - However, it turns out they ARE talking about the car you are seeing in the pics...

It's just so crazy you think you must have misunderstood.....

"he survived" now that is a vague statement, lol

dyna mo 12-27-2013 10:30 PM

yes, i read that earlier and again when i checked for updates. there's nothing about the extent of injuries.

'First Aid at the scene' means they walked away...

In the UK its a euphemism for 'they are fit and well' - Maybe not in the US.....

I agree it is vague...

whOaKemosabe 12-27-2013 10:37 PM

he died.

first aid here means minor injuries, usually, but i would want a news article to at least continue- first aid at the scene was adminstered and the driver was given a band-aid for the cut on his elbow, etc. but i just found it odd that there were no details.

wasn't putting you on blast, btw.

I know:winkwink:...

It does sound strange - Also because all of a sudden there are 2 of them when they started with just the driver in the headline.....

I am guessing the post went through the car like a cheese wire and it stopped them slowly enough that they didn't get the usual injuries caused by hitting a solid object...

TheDA 12-28-2013 11:11 AM

"both of whom escaped with minor injuries."

Scott McD 12-28-2013 11:13 AM

I doubt the car would pass an MOT test now...

He could take it to the one down the road here - He will pass anything if offered enough cash...

whOaKemosabe 12-29-2013 07:13 PM

lucky son of a bitch he's probably paralized

mineistaken 12-29-2013 07:45 PM

Its not that hard to believe, far more unrealistic things happen.. It just says that car was hit in the right spots, lucky for them.
