No, but I guess low income/profits is the culprit

klinton 12-27-2013 01:42 PM

very interesting...
xvideos and xhamster = too big too fail ;-)

tthese guys make xxxx(?) $ every day.......

tucata 12-27-2013 01:53 PM

kill all illegal tubes

SpicyM 12-27-2013 01:54 PM

That site was horrible, fucking slow and filled with ads + the traffic was shitty. God knows what was the reason, but I doubt they did not make money with it. It was a big tube.

Their other site pornbanana.com is redirecting too.

JosephFM 12-27-2013 01:57 PM

Isn't Shufuni owned by the same peeps behind pussycash?

They used to have a pinboard too (porntack.com) which use to send quite a bit of traffic and that too seems to be down and out. :(

And yes, pornbanana is out too.

Wow, surprise.

<sarcasm>
It can't be due to low income as the free full movie tube model is the ultimate cash cow nowadays

If and this is a big if for some reason they loose advertising from cams and dating then profits will slam down.

nikki99 12-27-2013 02:33 PM

good news :thumbsup

yes they were big enough to hurt

oppoten 12-27-2013 02:54 PM

I'm surprised some of you haven't heard of Shufuni.

Though it did seem to drop off the radar a bit recently, as the Alexa chart shows.

The Porn Nerd 12-27-2013 03:10 PM

Shufuni was frustrating because they had no Content Partner Program but instead relied on profile views etc. This meant no banners for Sponsers, just watermarks. That kind of business model doesn't really help Paysite Owners all THAT much, except when it comes to branding, type-ins, etc. This is very important so sites like Shufuni had their place in the grand scheme of things.

But they were hard to track down, anyone running it, and the site itself was slow to load. Even videos uploaded to existing profiles took forever to encode and appear on site. So I'm guessing they had a skeleton crew and weren't making enough bank to keep running it. And judging by their traffic they weren't attractive enough to another existing tube to buy it.

That, or the Illuminati.

Wrong.

They had a content partner program, you had to contact the admin and send them like 5 banners with different dimensions, linking code and anchor text/description. Then they manually assigned them to your video with every upload, so it was a bit lame since the approval/publication was not automatic.

Chezter 12-27-2013 03:47 PM

Hmm interesting, but if we dont know why they are down..

I think no, it's only bro's. What I heard it is pussycash/imlive "helped to establish" Shufuni, in fact they had peepshows section with imlive streams, but also livejasmin popunders - if it was imlive owned would have no other cam providers. Now it redirects to an imlive whitelabel, it would have redirected to imlive main url if it was owned by pussycash.

Anyway one tube that closes it makes that big news because it never happens. It is only the confirmation that tubes stay mostly up forever.

Yes. Unless it stays down for a month this could be something temporary. But then again it may mean they can't even pay their bandwidth bills.

The chart shows that right after the third quarter of 2013 it more or less died. What happened then? Oh yeah, the Google update on or around October 4th that killed off a LOT of sites.

Cutting out the middle man is a common business strategy. When was cutting out the supplier ever a good one?

Ah I apologize then. Shufuni was always on my list of sites to contact but then I could never find the contact info (I bet it was in plain site, too).

Anyway, I mostly submitted to them via Tube Site Submitter so that's where my 'profile only' perception came from. Ah well. Hope it's back, this could all be temporary.

Then again, with little to no traffic what's the point in carrying on, Content Partner Program or no?

I heard otherwise , that shufuni was run by pussycash. but could be wrong.

They recently settle a lawsuit with pinkvisual so it could be the reason, no money to pay pinkvisual

Once again it prooves that if you rely too much on Google your exposing yourself to a great risk.

true, but still they must be celebrating at Xvideos every day for the last year, they dominate 1st SERP page, sometimes having Google link to 6 different videos on the first page, Google search should be renamed Google Tube Search, because that's what it's become

if google would link to eg the category/profile of a porn star it would be logical, but giving top spots to single videos is insane, how does that 1 video have more value than a site focusing on that same pornstar

saw shufuni popping up a lot a few years back, but had been ages since I've even seen them in SERPs

Certain videos get a lot more comments and also higher ratings i.e. 100% or 97% over other videos with no comments and a 48% rating thats why.

I know how it can happen, but it's just idiotic and they should change their algorhythm to take this into account imo
