Crazy Shit That Happened to Me on Christmas Eve
 

Well, it didn't happen to me, thankfully.

So where I live (Uruguay) it's summer and very hot at the moment (39 C yesterday, thats 102 F). Here it's very common to celebrate by lighting fireworks, tossing cherry bombs, etc. People do it A Lot during both Christmas and New Years.

So that night me and some friends were chilling on the boardwalk, right by the beach. There were about 200 people all around us, mostly young folks anywhere from 17 to 24 or so. There were bombs and fire crackers going of literally every 10 seconds. It was deafening.

Some fucking kids about 12 - 15 meters from where we were seated were acting really stupid. They were tossing cherry bombs and whatnot and people who passed by. I saw them toss a cherry bomb and this couple who was walking down the street. The dude started cursing them out, but since they were like 15 of them, he just kept walking.

About an hour later one of these fuckers throws a bomb inside a car that was driving down the street. The guy stops his car, gets out and shoots the kid in the head. The kid is now in the hospital with part of his brain missing. They still haven't caught the shooter.

I didn't see it happen. And with all the bombs and firecrackers sounding off, we didn't hear the shot either. We were sitting down, when all of a sudden we see a multitude of people running past us, and girls screaming "he shot him, he shot him".

We got the fuck out of there. It's only just now that I found out why it was. Not surprised honestly. Fucking crazy shit.

Guess he wont be throwing anymore bombs in anyone's car for awhile....

I have no sympathy for that kid. I really am trying to give slightest bit of fuck for him, but its not happening.

It is kind of sickening. I myself felt horrible when it happened and you can imagine it ruined my night. But now that I know the "facts," the more I think about it, the less sorry i feel.

The kid definitely didn't deserver to get shot. Like nobody has ever done some stupid shit as a kid?

Still...no justification for shooting the kid. Maybe a good swift punch in the head as an attitude adjustment.

There's not much justification for shooting anybody, unless your life is threatened at that moment. The shooter's life was threatened the moment the cherry bomb exploded in the car, but he can't just go shoot him out of anger like that. Still, I feel like the world might be a better place without people who would throw an explosive device inside someone's car while they're driving.

I would say throwing an explosive device into a car is life threading. It can blow his hands off.

The kid definitely got what was comming to him.

Why can't these fucking kids just play world of Warcraft or watch a god dam movie instead of throwing bombs into people's cars.


The story could've been much worse. It could have been. "Man was driving with his daughter In the back car seat and boy threw a cherry bomb into the car, despite cherry bomb being just a firework it still blew the infant child to death".

And there you have it.

One of reasons why firecrackers should not be allowed for kids,only for adults.

Or pistol-whipping every tooth out of his fucking head.

The truth is it's impossible to know if he actually shot the same kid who threw the bomb, or just picked someone randomly from the crowd.

Always lots of "polvera" accidents this time of year in Colombia, but they usual result in a loss of hand or a badly burned face. Not to say that people don't get shot in the head in Bogota. Or in the Bronx, either.

Well there is another version now that the shooter wasn't the guy in the car, but the kid tossing the bombs.

That really changes things and makes this whole thing a lot fucking worse.

This newer version of the events is that the kid shot the guy who complained about the bombs.

so it does sound like the kid deserved a nice shot, man.

If this shit is true he deserves to be gunned down like a dog.

Growing up most of my friends and I (as well as many other kids in my town) had BB and pellet guns. There was one kid in school who lived on a country road and would hide in this big tree and shoot at cars going by. He got in trouble once when he hit a car and the driver stopped, drove up to his house and told his parents what just happened. He tried to hide in the tree, but they found him and he got busted.

He didn't learn his lesson. Several months later he shot a car as it drove by and cracked the windshield. The drive slammed on the breaks, got out and shot a few rounds from his very real pistol into the bushes near where he was hiding. Luckily, the kid didn't get hit, but it scared the shit out of him.

Sad. Stupidity attracts stupidity.
