As for ignoring, would be great if you had an automated ignore that would put anyone with multiple trolling accounts in an IGNORE category.

To be honest, most of the so called "business" I've received directly from GFY has never been very good. This place has always had trolls and has provided FAR more fun and games than anything else for me.

The value here has been in getting to know different people and the programs they represent then converting that into actual business at trade shows. The relationships I've built in this industry are primarily from face to face interactions.

I love GFY, old school as well as the current state of things. :2 cents:

You should know better (that people always will reply to trolls) and be a bigger man and deal with them in order to clean the forum. Putting the blame on forum members like that is just an excuse.

other than that is fine. i've checked all existing webmasters forums (mainstream ones) - none is even close to what gfy is. lots of solid ppl still visit this place. but again, there should be some bargains for rogue trolls

It's not the board that's dying its the business model. Most of the money is being pocketed by a few large companies who don't need this board. So with no serious money to be made, no serious moneymakers are gonna waste time here. What you have now is what's left.

True. For all it's negatives and complaints over the years this place is still standing and it's still where most people go when they have a serious issue. I think it has to be balanced. There are some people here who I am sure want to make it so you have to be a bro (or work for a bro) to post here. That's no good. But neither is total anarchy. At least it seems the real hardcore trolls get banned in a month or two in almost every case. And the ignore feature does work great.

Your banner was fine, it is the text that violates the rules. So you are still in violation. I wasn't even asking for you to fix it.

In theory it makes sense. A nice clean business oriented board.

I was a moderator at PornCity when it finally closed down. It was a good board. Mayor had free hosting for blogs,Messaging always worked,in most respects it offered more than GFY.

One of the main reasons it did close down was because it was over-moderated. The trolls and harshness is what sells headlines. Look at the thread views. It's the drama threads that always get the views.

Take that away from GFY and it becomes a memory.

In today's day and age of complete internet anonymity, this is impossible.

This is the exact reason there are people here that we do not ban. Think of it this way, would you rather know who your enemies are and be able to track their movements, or have them banned and start a new account and be able to hide in the shadows once more.

Once again, think on this one really hard.

We do deal with them, when they VIOLATE the rules. There is no rule against trolling, you would have been banned already if there was one.

it's ok to post gore images under the title 'funniest ever pics' or whatever the fuck it was, to libel, to hijack/steamroll biz threads, to scam, get banned, and post under new nicks that EVERYONE knows are former banned scammers, but yeah, why address all that shit when you can jazz in with a note about sig size, and look like a superstar.

As far as not banning known scammers when they make new nicks. I am sorry that you do not quite understand my last post on this issue. Let me simplify it. The decision has been made on several occasions to not banning them so people know who the scammers are. Right now you know who those people are and who not to do business with, and this has helped others to NOT be scammed additionally.

I'm not sure what is available with VB but if there is a "block" option where you could stop anyone on your block list from seeing your posts and yourself from seeing their posts that might be a great solution. I know I'd like to be able to block several users on here. If that were possible I would post a lot more. Have just barely dipped a toe back in the pool and already see people starting shit.

Oh and it is about time to change the youtube options for embed. Specifically the full screen option needs turned on. I know TD had it set like that for a reason way back when, but I think they have taken care of those security issues unless I'm wrong. :thumbsup


Oh and looking into a post "like" system separate of FB for here would be cool as well. Get so used to FB I always want to click like on a post here.
