Merry Christmas -- Back from the Blackout

I was without power, heat and running water (no electric to run the water well pump) from Sunday the 22nd 04:30 AM until Wednesday December 25 at 20:00 -- a Christmas that will live in infamy. There were bad ice storms from Michigan to Maine and then North into Eastern Canada

So, I hope you did not spend your Christmas Eve under such circumstances ...

To add a footnote to this wonder-filled Christmas for me: This morning I opened an email sent to me from the US Embassy in Athens Greece -- they recovered my wallet pickpocketed from me on the Athens metro last September with just my driver's license and a couple of keys left in it -- the email was dated December 24, Christmas Eve. What a wonderful gift -- an empty wallet :upsidedow

So, how was your Christmas?

Lots of ice and power outages throughout the 401 corridor here in Ontario, 3 days of non-stop slipperiness , made walking, driving and surviving interesting :xmas-smil
