atheist vs christmas
I'm tired of telling people who ask me dumb things that I'm an atheist and christmas means nothing for me... so they look me like if I said I'm a terrorist or something :1orglaugh
Religious people think they can scream and try to convert everyone to their beliefs and this is normal for most people, but when an atheist try to explain its side people close their fucking ears. It seems that they don't want to understand. People want respect and don't respect others. |
Xtians are funny :1orglaugh

lincolin That I am not a member of any Christian Church, is true; but I have never denied the truth of the Scriptures; and I have never spoken with intentional disrepect of religion in general, or of any denomination of Christians in particular. Handbill Replying to Charges of Infidelity on July 31, 1846 (CWAL I:382) Such a man the times have demanded, and such, in the providence of God was given us. But he is gone. Let us strive to deserve, as far as mortals may, the continued care of Divine Providence, trusting that, in future national emergencies, He will not fail to provide us the instruments of safety and security. Eulogy on Henry Clay, July 6, 1852 (CWAL II:132) ben frankin Benjamin Franklin was even less religious than Washington and Jefferson. Franklin was an egotist. Franklin was someone who believed far more in himself than he could possibly have believed have believed in the divinity of Christ, which he didn't. He believed in such things as the transmigration of souls. That is that human, that humans came into being in another existence and he may have had occult beliefs. He was a Mason who was deeply interested in Masonic secrets and there are some signs that Franklin believed in the mysteries of Occultism though he never really wrote much about it and never really said much about it. Franklin is another writer whom you can read all you want to read in the many published volumes of Franklin's writings and read very little about religion. Einstein : Your question [about God] is the most difficult in the world. It is not a question I can answer simply with yes or no. I am not an Atheist. According to biographer Walter Isaacson, Einstein was more inclined to denigrate disbelievers than the faithful.[21] Einstein said in correspondence, "[T]he fanatical atheists...are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are creatures who—in their grudge against the traditional 'opium of the people'—cannot bear the music of the spheres."[21][22] Although he did not believe in a personal God, he indicated that he would never seek to combat such belief because "such a belief seems to me preferable to the lack of any transcendental outlook."[23] |

You are just young. I quit talking religion a long time ago. I sort of feel odd when someone I like and respect is really religious. Sort of like finding out they are a furry or something.

Like Politics, each side has its own extremists that waste huge chunks of their lives trolling the opposition into retaliating with arguments that can be picked apart.
Meanwhile, the fact is that human beings are capable of manipulating nature into becoming the technological components of limited forms of virtual reality. When Mankind achieves replicating the Natural Universe with a Virtual Universe, you then have a viable scientific explanation for what created the Natural Universe and how it came to be populated with human beings. That is when genuine atheists and genuine theists will find common ground, while all these militant atheists and pseudo religionists will be left standing with their thumbs up their buttholes because they were too busy picking fights instead of putting 2 + 2 together. |
The joke is on the atheist. Not believing so strongly is no different than believing so strongly. One says an absolute no, one says an absolute yes. Both absolutes that cannot be proven.
90% of the world believes in a higher power. Does that mean there is a higher power? No, but it does make you wonder. Stop hating and learn about each others beliefs. You just might become a better person along the way, religious or not. |
i don't waste my time worrying about if a god exists. there is no way to ever know so why bother? i will celebrate christmas however jesus has nothing to do with it for me. its about family and fun.

You can not legally run for office in some states if you are an atheist.
"non believers" do face discrimination and persecution and through generous tax breaks to churches end up funding religion. I would love to see the "church of no god" apply for and get to pay no taxes including property taxes. |
