...in the car port I kept getting a whiff of a horrible smell...the smell of something dead. I finally tracked the smell down. It was coming from behind an old washing machine. It was the body of a big rat. I removed the carcass but now the whole carport smells like death and is filtering into my house.

I did a quick google search on removing the smell and mostly what I found suggested the use of bleach. Any suggestions on how to quickly eliminate the smell? I prefer something to remove the smell not just something to mask the smell. I have company coming tomorrow.

I didn't think it would be long before you needed to remove the smell of death from your presence.
