I agree with you 100% I used to listened to rap in the early 80's when it was fun and uplifting, the whole break dance things was kinda cool to as it was positive.
Then the bloods and crips took over west coast rap image with Colors via Ice T and all... from there its nothing but wasted mindless garbage.

However, I grew up on the edge of old fashion values where i could separate entertainment from real life. I grew out of rap and that culture fast.
1983 changed everything once I watch Ozzy and Crue perform, then Iron Maiden, W.A.S.P., DIO, Queensryche, Scorpions, ect... It is just music though.
I am not going to go out and buy an upside down drum cage to create a new trend..lol
