Why are webmasters always complaining about Google?
Why are webmasters pissed at Google when their traffic slows down?
I use a lot of Social Media and other traffic sources and that works for me. I don't rely on Google traffic. That traffic is nice, but I don't need it to make sales or be happy. It's 2013 and almost 2014... So when I read about "adapt or die" I always think about those webmasters that still think it's 2006 and Google is the only real traffic source... We don't need Google... We just need to play harder. :2 cents::2 cents: |
Well, I guess it depends on what makes YOU happy. For some people an extra 1k a month is "enough" to make them happy. Others, like me, who live in New York motherfucking CITY, we need HUNDREDS of sales to make us "happy".
But to answer your question: Google is important but to JUST rely on Google, or to constantly play the PR and keyword game is becoming less and less profitable. |
Simply said: Not everyone is familiar with the "social game". You need to know what you are doing to not loose your empire (tumblr deleting blogs and so on).
Why don't you write a tutorial for the GFY folks, I'm sure many webmasters are interested and don't know what potential social sites have. |
...because they can't control it.

Build tgps, trade traffic, make coin, and plug rush is not trading traffic

But I have many social profiles.. I have 30 high quality Twitter accounts and a lot of FB pages. Yes, I know FB doesn't allow adult content, but you can work around that. Just keep it clean.. About Tumblr; Yes I lost a lot of blogs in the past, but not anymore. Just keep it simple and clean and then there are still a lot of ways to generate traffic.... But I have many other ways to generate traffic. Google isn't king anymore. Don't get me wrong. I love Google traffic, but I see a lot of people that only rely on the Google traffic and when that doesn't work they shut everything down and choose a new direction like mainstream.. Fuck.. I just love to play this traffic game and wanted to see if other webmasters think the same way about Google. :winkwink: |

Would love to get some hints...do you use ICQ? |

Happy holidays! Dont be a scrooge |
because google sucks lately
|
One misstep and all your social accounts will get taken out in one swoop. Seems more risky to me
Meanwhile google is always tinkering with shit. Google "gay sex" and it's all mainstream now |
Google is king. Google can send you unlimited amounts of traffic and you won't have to work with it. With social networking you'll have to work for every fucking hit and you can loose it at any time.
|
While Google is king, bing is a good princely traffic source.

you mean social media spamming? call it right names ... :upsidedow

When the traffic doesn't flow, they blame Google instead of themselves :2 cents: |

I might want to sell Ferraris, but where I live, Ford trucks are what everyone uses, so if I wanted to open a dealership... A big point is the issues that "webmasters" blame Google for are often things that Google clearly stated are not allowed -- any type of paid link for example, or things such as link exchanges / plug programs, etc. -- lots of GFcryers use these techniques and then blame Google for penalizing them. It's stupid. |
I'm getting a lot better traffic from Bing now...I mean I still get a ton of good traffic from Google and Google has always treated my websites well but the Bing traffic has really been ramping up lately.

I got rocked by google recently but have other traffic streams thankfully to make up for it. But online gambling in the markets i promote has become increasingly more difficult to promote via Social media and Adwords.

There are folks who DO succeed at this, however -- but you won't see them here revealing how... I've said it before: make ONE site and work it. The "get $1 a day x 1,000 sites" mindset doesn't apply. Google knows better even if some site owners don't :2 cents: |
this thread is useless without social media marketing techniques.
