Roomate Transition

Seems everyone has to do it eventually, go from living with people to living on their own. Just curious what were the huge changes you noticed and stuff? I am so sick of the roomate bullshit. I have 3 now and I swear our house never has less then 8 people in it, when you add in the girlfriends and squatters. That is one thing I wont miss.

Gary 03-04-2003 10:56 AM

Ya, im married and gotta deal with same bullshit. Wife has 400 brothers and sisters, none of them have jobs, or homes apparently. *sigh*

XxXotic 03-04-2003 10:57 AM

coming home to your own empty hose. knowing there aren't a bunch of flaming morons runnin around....... best fuckin feeling in the world

things i do not miss anymore.....
my smokes being gone cuz roomie didnt feel like goin to the store
clothes being worn by someone who is not me
wondering where the fuck my leftover lebanese food went
my shit not where i left it

Dawgy 03-04-2003 10:58 AM

being able to walk around naked 24/7 is a definite plus.

playa 03-04-2003 10:59 AM

oh the joy of being able to masterbate without the fear of getting caught

playa 03-04-2003 11:01 AM

also another positive

Chicks are willing to give up the pussy more if live by yourself,

they don't want your roomates to think their a slut

MaxDent 03-04-2003 11:01 AM

I just did the opposite. I was living alone and now I have roommates.

I'm amazed that many people can actually keep their shit together long enough to pay rent. Wow! I never met so many people with Art degrees.

Spooky.

ItBurnsWhenIpee 03-04-2003 11:13 AM

I think having one cool roommate is just about right. I get lonely living alone, especially considering I work at home.

[Labret] 03-04-2003 11:14 AM

There is no horror worse than a bad roommate.

A good one is priceless.

Sly_RJ 03-04-2003 11:20 AM

I've had plenty of bad roommates. Saying it was a nightmare is a complete understatement.

You always need to lay down the rules early or you'll be asking for trouble.

My current roommate and I get along perfect. Have had no problems whatsoever. When interviewing people, try to find someone with a common interest. It really helps.

Ugh, now I gotta bring that anti-bacterial spray next time I come over, sighs.

1. Nobody borrowing your clothes

2. Nobody "forgetting" to leave you messages.

3. Nobody eating your food.

4. ...and a fellow poster was on the right track--a lot of girls don't like to date men with roommates.

5. Nobody else to clean up after.

6. No arguing over the remote for the main TV

7. No fighting for turns on the Internet

....and the list goes on. I've had roommates and I've lived alone for many years and I wouldn't have it any other way.

i've never had a room mate, other than live-in girl friends. but i'm planning on moving with a couple of friends in Montreal next year. sounds like it could be ugly... though i'd only be living there part time.

THIS IS TRUE.

Yeah dont get roomates, these idiots rely on me, I am the only one with a vehicle, satellite, fooseball tables, laundry shit, televisions and soo much more. Our house is unreal too, its huge and I even found the fucker.. Like sly says, you gotta lay out the rules early.....

One of the "girlfriends" has all these fights with her parents.... she is so rich it is disgusting, so she thinks its fun to get back at her parents all the time by walking out and living with us, she's here about 5 nights a week and doesnt pay fuck all, not to mention parks behind me and blocks me in (one of these days I am going to get her car towed)

I am sick of paying the bills and having to get money from these deadbeats who rely on OSAP (ontario student loan program)

Not to mention, since everyone pretty much calls this place "home" people I dont even recognize just walk in all the time (no knocking or doorbells), we also are like a full time storage facility for everyones crap they cant fit in our place. (again our house is huge for a student residence)

Living on my own should be an experience I look forward too! Or possibly just getting a roomate I dont know at all that has a car and money and getting a another really nice place

I am married now but one of the hardest things for me was learning how to cook for only one. I was always the house cook. (I was also a professional chef for 5 years) Cooking for one is truly a talent.

Sly_RJ 03-04-2003 01:53 PM

Pipe come down here. Should have an open room in two weeks!

delia 03-04-2003 02:01 PM

I don't know about you but i love having roomates. Of course sometimes they can give you hard times but i hate being alone, i can't stand it. And i'm used to having people in the house. At least now that i'm young. When i will get married i will probably change my point of view, i don't know
