I am not too big on Rand's take on religion and faith but she's spot on regarding racism and bio-determinism

As far as this Libertarian goes it doesn't matter what race, sex, or sexual orientation you are as long as you live in peace and leave me alone.

All the people that I actually know who are Libertarian, are also in the porn biz. And they aren't the clowns on GFY who are homophobic and racist.

I think most people are Libertarian without even knowing it (at least the ones who aren't profiting off of the govt.).
Most folks just want to be able to live their lives, raise their families and be left alone.

If you want to live in a libertarian state buy an island, I was going to add get a time machine and travel back to 1776 but even in its earliest stages the United States wasn't libertarian, far from it.

There's not a developed country on this planet with 'small government', because it can't work. It's a pipe dream.

The KKK was the paramilitary arm of the Democratic Party during the Reconstruction years in the South. Seriously. Famous KKK alumni include: Sen. Robert Byrd (D), President Harry Truman (D), Hugo Black (D - FDR appointee to SCOTUS), etc etc.

KKK sympathizer: President Woodrow Wilson (D). He liked the Klan so much, he wrote the dedicatory text for one of the most racist flicks ever to grace the cinema screen: Griffith's Birth of a Nation.

Government doesn't "work". Crime is rampant. Wealth disparity is off the charts. The economies of the world are tanking. Police states are burgeoning. Armed conflicts all over the globe. Pollution. Strife. Discord.

I was watching Goodfellas the other day with my girlfriend. Joe Pesci's character exclaims to Henry; "can you believe it? A Jew broad predjudiced against Italians!". I looked at my gf (not Caucasian) and asked "did you notice something unusual in what was said?". She said yes and said exactly what I was thinking "when was the last time you heard the word 'prejudiced' used?"

There was a time when people discerned between prejudice, bigotry and racism. Now, racism basically means "you said something I don't want to hea, so I'm going to shut you upr", rather than its original meaning which was essentially the belief that a human is less intelligent or less coordinated and so on, strictly because of that individuals race.

People today have zero clue as to the meaning of racism and it's never defined from the outset of any discussion of the issue.

I totally and completely disagree with you. And yes, in the beginning of the U.S. the principles and ideas of the founding fathers for the Federal Govt. are exactly what a Libertarian (myself) believes in.

And the only reason there isn't a developed country on Earth with "small govt." is because govt. GROWS over time and gets out of control.

Do you really not think that the Federal Govt. is too big? Spending 10 BILLION dollars a day? A 17 TRILLION dollar deficit? Lifetime/Career politicians?

And you're okay with that? Because having a small efficient federal govt. is a "pipe dream"?

Yep, and so was a small group of 13 colonies winning a war for independence against the most powerful military force of the era.

People are racists, not parties or platforms and people can and will be racists no matter whose party is in power.
