I don't understand google..

Fuckit... I don't get it. I just don't get it.
Untill now, I never had problems with google. The only way I got in touch with dropped rankings is by reading threats from other webmasters.

Untill now....

Somehow, google puniched me. Dunno why, but something happend.

I have a pretty new website, about 6 weeks old.
Ranked fantastic for some keywords. Had 85% Visitors from google. Ranked for (my) most importand keywords on #1 to #8. Had about 300 UV/ day with about 3 pageviews per user.

Today.... BAAM. Nothing! One visitor per hour!
Checked how i rank for the keywords which worked best. I am on page 6 or even 8!

WTF?! HOW? WHY!
site:mydomain shows hits. GoogleWebmasterTools shows no error.

Fuckit...

bigPunk 12-17-2013 09:50 AM

Are you using plugrush?
If so, lately google are punishing sites that use their iframes

3xmedia 12-17-2013 09:52 AM

that's normal.

pinkz 12-17-2013 09:56 AM

gooooooooooogle is the most unreliable source of adult traffics on the internets!

Thought only PR-Redirects will have any effect. I use their regular Gallery-Plugs.

So... whats next? Going up again in rankins?

twitmytwat 12-17-2013 09:58 AM

I've got a feeling google does this on purpose. Gives your site a bump in rankings when you launch it so your new site isn't buried, then drastically drops you a little later to see how you cope. Might be based on user metrics, who knows...

Same thing happened to 2 of my sites. Great at launch then a bit over a month or two in nothing.
If you add good content, have good metrics and do SMART link building and give it time, google shows some love.

nexcom28 12-17-2013 10:04 AM

Are your keywords an exact match domain?

I also used their gallery plugs and just like that google stopped from sending me any traffic at all...there are few threads here about that, i'm not the only one

have any redirects on this site? mobile, or for traffic trade. google more and more hates redirects. Otherwise, new sites get a boost from google in the beginning, to test, and then goes to lower ranking...

No Redirects, no Traffictrades, no Blinds, no Popads.

A lot of webmasters refer to this as the honeymoon period for new sites. When you launch a new site, and start link building, google will usually rank you really well for about a month while it determines where you should actually be placed in search. From there you'll usually see a complete drop, and you'll end up buried somewhere past page 1 (unless you're working with really low competition kw or something)

in regards to OP, sounds like the honeymoon period imo, but its really hard to determine what could be causing a drop in se traffic without seeing the domain or backlink profile

dehash 12-17-2013 10:40 AM

Google gave you "beginners bonus", gave you some traffic to check if that is what visitors really want to find under these keywords and decided you are not good enough. Plus there are other gadzilion sites need to be tested with beginners bonus strategy. Keep doing new sites, then, later old sites will be back, closed to top 10.

Well EMD's have been hit hard, if you have keywords in your title and onpage. May be that. maybe not?

postalsex 12-17-2013 11:19 AM

I dont understand my GF but thats nothing new :)

baggg 12-17-2013 11:54 AM

this is called "google honeymoon"

many new sites especially EMD will rank very good very fast but only lasts a few days/weeks and than drop back like 10-30 places

this happens all the time

What he said, germans call it Newbie Bonus. It's usually 6-8 weeks for new sites, after that, your site will be threatened like each other site. Update it regularly and start building inbound links, this way you will climb up with small steps.

In this case I don't believe it has anything to do with Plugrush.

hausarzt 12-17-2013 12:23 PM

Ok, sounds like everything is running "as usual".

btw:
Site is built on Wordpress. I use the YOAST Seo-Plugin. Not in a spammy way. Just to edit Tags, Archive-Pages and so on.

Let's wait and see.
How long should it take to climb up again and see results?

Google is no longer a tameable animal for many.. it's always evolving now..

they say the same things regarding the weather, do people not sail anymore? ;)

seo has always been ocean navigation, things can be smooth for months then a storm comes along and knocks you around. The trick is to stay afloat, adapt to the changes and move forward.

Firestarter30 12-17-2013 12:41 PM

Its was your "honeymoon" because your website is new, nothing weird here.

dehash 12-17-2013 01:19 PM

Depends on various factors like competition, links (in- and out), how long do visitors remain on your site and the usual "google does what it wants to do" :-)

Don't forget: Do not only get inbound links to your index page at wordpress.

Good luck with the site

btw, I sent you a PM

So now you can look foward to a lifetime of complete shit as in most marriages! :1orglaugh

PornDiscounts-V 12-17-2013 02:04 PM

Let me give you a personal example of mine.

www.teenwebcams.in

Created in Dec, 2012. It went #1 immediately for terms:

teenwebcams
teen webcams
teen cams
free teen webcams
free teen web cams
free teen cams

For about 5 weeks it was gangbusters. About 3K in traffic a day that converted into a few sales a day. Then from late January to about April nothing.... Hard to find it. But then by May it was back for certain keyword combinations. Nothing like before, but that was the honeymoon period people speak of.

There are a lot of webmasters that create networks based only on the HP. Make mad money, then dump it and move on to more domains.

hausarzt 12-17-2013 02:12 PM

Ok, I will work on as usual and hopefully get back on track.

This Google-monster is some crazy shit....

Aharper, didn't get any PM from you.

CyberHustler 12-17-2013 03:39 PM

hausarzt 12-17-2013 03:59 PM

Your site is only 6 weeks old? That's your problem...new websites are always going to flip flop in rankings, up and down up and down and eventually you will level out.

My old lady just wrote something for my sister's accelerated nursing school graduation. It was about how nursing school is like child birth. It is hard in the beginning, but then you completely forget about it and love the child later.

How does this relate to you? Imagine 5 years form now when your site is doing $5K a month for you with 250,000K in traffic... and you laugh at this post. Work hard and you will get your just desserts.

That's why the classic SEO concept is dead. The UA and "social" factors rule these days.

baddog 12-17-2013 11:53 PM

Were you ranking for search terms no one else really cared about? Could be that the phrases were found in older/deeper sites than yours.

MonsieurDanny 12-18-2013 06:16 AM

Google is always an up and down...!

secureizef 12-18-2013 08:17 AM

the site is too young.

HoboSexual 12-18-2013 08:43 AM

no worries..... new sites for me always take off in google after about a week and run good for 2weeks to a month then seem to die off and dont come back for a couple weeks or more. They never return to the initial surge level but they do stay steady if I don't do anything at all to them.
