Texas Teen, 4 DUI Deaths: 'Too Rich to Know Right From Wrong. He has Affluenza.

A Texas judge sentenced a schoolboy to 10 years probation and in-patient rehab in Orange County for a DUI crash that killed four people. You won't believe his defense.

A Texas teenager escaped prison and was instead sentenced to 10 years probation, plus a stay at a Newport Beach rehab facility, for a drunken driving crash that killed four people after his defense argued he was too rich to know right from wrong, media outlets reported this week.

Ethan Couch, 16, was sentenced by Texas Judge Jean Boyd on Tuesday following a psychologist's testimony that Couch was a product of "affluenza," a condition in which "his family felt that wealth bought privilege and there was no rational link between behavior and consequences,"

Couch is expected to check into an in-patient rehabilitation facility near Newport Beach, which will reportedly cost his parents $450,000-a-year.

Yeah, I heard about this. Made me so mad I could spit.

I couldn't believe that the judge went for it.... and then, since he did decide to, then by that same logic the parents should have been made culpable and been sent to jail instead for "causing" this condition.

Apparently the judge got his law degree from a box of Cracker Jacks.

Ethan right, and his four victims

Quote:

On the night of the accident, Couch and some friends had stolen beer from a local Walmart. They went back to his parents house to drink the beer, then used a company pick-up which was involved in the crash.

Three hours after the crash, tests showed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.24, three times the legal limit, according to the district attorney's office.
How sad for the families and loved ones whose lives were shattered by this drunk driver. :(

Pretty sure though that his parents are going to get sued big time in civil suits:

Quote:

Two of Couch's friends were riding in the bed of the pick-up and were tossed from the vehicle. One of whom was Sergio E. Molina, whose parents, Maria Lemus and Sergio Molina, are the plaintiffs in the aforementioned lawsuit.

Sergio has been in a vegetative state since the night of the accident. Lemus and Molina are suing Ethan's parents Fred and Tonya Couch, as well as Fred's company Cleburne Metal Works. They are seeking $20 million in damages.

That's great, he has affluenza. We need to cure him of this. He thinks he is rich and the law cannot touch him.

The proper solution is to have the law reach out and... probe his anus. Daily.

I'm very happy to hear that this family will soon be cured of their affluence disease. :winkwink:

Hope they lose every penny. Disgusting.

Relatives of a mother and daughter killed by a teenage drunk driver in July have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the boy, his father and his father?s company. It is the fifth lawsuit filed in connection with the deadly crash.

Ethan Couch?s father, Fred Couch, is named as a defendant in the lawsuit, as is the company he owns Cleburne Metal Works. The trucks is registered to Cleburne Metal Works, and Fred Couch is accused of ?gross negligence? for entrusting the pickup to an incompetent or reckless driver.

There's more to the story.

Google the Judge. Her name is Jean Boyd, and She sentenced a black person to 10 years in jail for for a lesser crime: http://www.brothersonsports.com/affl...lling-anybody/

Quote:

..the judge has a history that some are considering to be racist. There was a 14-year old boy that Boyd sent to prison for over a decade after he punched another child who fell, hit his head and died. So, even though he didn’t intend to kill anyone, this youth will now suffer for life after experiencing the torture, rape, isolation and abuse that occurs in the state prison system. This doesn’t count the fact that he will be labeled a felon for the rest of his life, devoid of job and educational opportunities."

Google the Psychologist who testified. His name is Dr. G. Dick Miller, and he claims he's a psychologist but the first thing on his resume and his website is "Consulting services for criminal attorneys" http://www.gdickmillerphd.com

This case stinks of rich people entitlement and racism.

I was going to say, there is an easy cure for this. Transfer he and his family's wealth to the victim's families.

This is beyond fucked up. I fully expect CNN to be discussing this daily :disgust

Way lame, way wrong!!

But from what I know about Texas; Its a "Good OL Boy" State.

Attorny's, Judges, cops are all bought and paid for.

This deal was done on a golf course.

I have cousins who do bad shit, get caught with crazy amounts of drugs and always seem to get off.

Why??? Because my family own a bunch of radio stations and the Sherifs, Judges all have to run for reelection.

I dont agree or condone that shit. Not even a little bit. I got cousins that are Gangsters and with brothers that are cops, attorneys and judges. Not right, not fair.

I have seen money and favors buy "Injustice" for a very long time. So sad, but so true.

I have been in LA since I was 3 years old and would visit cousins and uncles in Texas and it would drop my jaw on the shit I have seen go down.

Sad story, lets see if the Feds step in.

that's forked up. what if you shoot someone, and then pretend you didn't know it was wrong? would that hold in court?

JockoHomo 12-17-2013 04:04 PM

You can buy a verdict in the USA.

The legal system is a joke and rigged to benefit those with money...certainly in business and even in the case of criminal activity as clearly illustrated here in this instance!

Great example of the rich controlling the system.
