chrome + Ads Removal = no sales

I posted that I was using chrome.

I found that in the last few days banners were not showing.

I had a look and found that Ads Removal 1.0.0 (I have not added this) was blocking the adds/banners.

Now if chrome is used by more people you may be loosing sales.

Banners are not the only way to drive traffic to a paysite. This is not 1999

What's even more amazing in 2013 is that people still complain about ad blockers being a reason for their lost sales. They spend countless hours trying to circumvent adblock users, redirect anyone using them, etc.

It boggles the mind how businessmen would turn away a potential customer versus spending the time to implement alternative methods / backup methods to try and re-engage those with ad blockers. About the dumbest thing I have seen so far is sites redirecting potential customers with adblockers installed to "educate them".

If you don't want the opportunity to convert your visitors just because of an adblocker, feel free to redirect your lost potential customer to me. I'll gladly welcome them and try to convert them.

If adds block banners on your blogs then this is going to be a problem.

By the way i also found it blocks text urs with affiliate codes too.

If your sales revenue streams are completely tied to banners and affiliate text links, then you've already been leaving money on the table for years. The simple act of styling a CSS text block to display any time a standard advertisement is blocked via adblocker would be more effective than you have now. A simple php redirect script will let you link to sponsors through a link on YOUR site instead of directly through a sponsors NATS link, or CCBill, or Commission Junction or Linkshare link, or whomever.

You've been in this business awhile now. Time to think outside the box.

Incidentally, these same arguments have been around the 90's with respect to adblockers. People still made money and certainly continue to do so.

There are many different ad blocking plugins for every browser, still banner and other advertising isn't dead and shouldn't be.

According to Adblock in Google Chrome Webstore it has 10,000,000+ users using adblocker extension so I believe there are many numbers of people in this planet that never heard of it!

Not to worry, I am sure Adwords, DoubleClick, and Adsense are whitelisted in the Google Chrome ad-blocker file :upsidedow
