are all new tlds going to cost the same, or different prices? and how much?

bdld 12-15-2013 02:50 PM

don't see any becoming popular.

secureizef 12-15-2013 08:23 PM

I would go for the .inc

SmutGiant 12-15-2013 09:27 PM

Some of these are just overkill. Why .mobile when there's already .mobi?

I remember .shop being proposed in 1998.

I don't see these tld's gaining huge traction anytime soon, besides the obvious brandability for certain entities ie "tv.guide" "fox.news" etc.

Some brands might use brand.blog instead of a blog.brand.com subdomain.

Low potential for type in traffic and minimal impact for ranking based on exact match phrases.

The majority beneficiaries will be the registrars.

I may grab them if they are free or 0.01$ (actual worth)

That's a lot of TLD's.

InfoGuy 12-16-2013 05:37 AM

.com was, is and will remain on top. All the new proposed TLDs will be ghost towns like all the other shit TLDs from the past. With each new sunrise period, there are suckers loading up on worthless domains while thinking they're going to get rich quick.

I was talking to 1and1 about this and someone there told me most of them will be $49. Some might be less but I doubt they'll be as cheap as .net,.com etc. $49 seem like a real good way to discourage people from registering one though:2 cents:
