*Yawn*

I used to have a laminated stock cert for around 40,000 shares of a company we went public that was around 915,000 in value, (reprinted after reverse merger) and I used that mousepad for along time. (dot.bomb)

What would impress the hell out of me is if someone posted a picture of their dog,

and in the background the missing leg of his computer desk was replaced with a stack of 100's keeping his desk upright.

:winkwink:

hahah I have a cert for 35,000 stock options worth 40k before the dot coma wiped out any value whatsoever..chump change compared to 915, but I know the feeling.

a1ka1ine 03-04-2003 08:10 AM

i cant buy a house for less than £100k in this area :-( which is like $160k :-(

BigFish 03-04-2003 09:31 AM

good luck. post some pics.

arg 03-04-2003 09:44 AM

Get a shot of one of the bills without the paper around the middle, and it looks like you could crank 'em out on a Deskjet pretty easily. :-)

Congrats on the house!

Where are you in Cheshire? That's a nice area. Property prices in the UK are crazy but be grateful you're up t'north and not in London - my new apartment cost £400,000 and only has two bedrooms!

Validus 03-04-2003 10:49 AM

did u make sure to take pics in high rez... for the design dept? hehheehehehehe

Gary 03-04-2003 10:54 AM

No checks? LOL

stocktrader23 03-04-2003 11:02 AM

If I had $50,000 cash, and the stack was that small, I would be disappointed. :(

I want to fill a briefcase up, would suck buying a house with money I had in 1 pocket.

I think you misunderstood that - its only worth $900k if you can sell it into the market at the time its valued that high.

Likely he had restricted paper and had no choice but to hang onto his mousepad.....

For $50k I can buy a very nice house in Fortaleza, Brazil :)

But for what I understood, this is the 2nd payment, so the house didn't cost only $50k.

SleazyDream 03-04-2003 12:09 PM

so how much is that in US money?

At todays current rate $50,000 converts to $49,000

Shit is the $$ in trouble. :1orglaugh

It feels like a lot of money when you have to walk around town with it all day, in that one pocket.

In the US it would get me arrested under suspicion ao benig a drug baron or terrorist. Here no one bats an eyelid. Must tell you it felt strange.

Thanks for all the well wishes, seriously this time last year we would never of dreamt of going out and buying a house. The $50K was for half of it we already paid the other half. Now with the content store we are planning on building our own house in a couple of years. So never let my attitude get to you, the Internet is where it's at. :thumbsup

Praguer
I will be in Prague Friday, Eva is moving our belongings to storage and us to the studio for two weeks, while she has the new house rebuilt :). So phone me, Im in the Corinthian as always.
