OUTLIER

Congrats, you learned a new word that you believe will make you sound smart, now use it in every other sentence just to make sure nobody missed it.

I better get on using this, lol, what does it mean ? I dont care enough to look it up :D

I think it is good for society. Most people have no clue about statistics and will use outliers and anecdotal data to try and prove any point.

Definition from merr-webs:
1 a person whose residence and place of business are at a distance
2 something (as a geological feature) that is situated away from or classed differently from a main or related body
3 a statistical observation that is markedly different in value from the others of the sample

You're trying to show-off with your knowledge of overused words :upsidedow

i refuse to use trendy words, you only have to listen to dumb sports and news broadcasters to catch when a new 'smart' word has reached trendy/overused status.

my next overused trendy word/phrase is 'have a conversation' as in 'the country needs to have a conversation about (insert important issue here)' 'we need to have a conversation about gun control' 'we need to have a conversation about head injuries in football'

Why "Outlier" and not "Tipping Point"?
