More money from bitcoin doing nothing than with all my work in adult and nothing on GFY?
 

I snagged quite a bit of bitcoin long ago for around $1 each. As of today I've made more money (on paper) than I have by working in the adult industry.

I checked GFY to see if the "innovative" users that were once known to frequent this forum had anything new and interesting bitcoin related and once again nothing.

I don't know what happened to you GFY but I miss stopping in and finding new opportunities that utilize new technology or situations. Seriously though, nothing?

Correct. The business model changed years ago and so very few have done anything to adapt. Not only do I not see any innovative ways people are capitalizing on the "porn is free" mindset when something does come along that offers more opportunities for webmasters it is ignored or ridiculed.

I make a decent amount of money on this free porn, and I don't try very hard.

Yeah you would think the adult industry would be more willing to give bitcoin a shot since it gives customers a way to pay without worrying about having their credit card banged, cross sales, bitcoins are more anonymous, etc...some adult companies and paysites are giving it a shot though!

I had a bunch of coins when they were around the $7-12 mark but I sold a lot of them or used them to buy things...I still have a couple bitcoins left though.

Where did I say that? I said I miss coming to GFY and actually finding new stuff to play with. Believe it or not you could come here and fine some cool toys that had the side effect of making you money.

I was actually hoping to find something to invest some coins in since everything on the bitcoin forums is some ridiculous mining scam. Looks like it's not even a topic that receives serious discussion here even though this is an industry that could benefit greatly from it. Or are you still accepting Paypal for your adult offerings? I don't know, maybe even being able to pay affiliates somewhere that doesn't eat all of their third world profits in fees would be a good enough thing to implement. Something. Anything!

I think I remember the topic coming up during my lurking days but it was pretty useless long ago. I'm just wondering why at this point an industry that has many problems that could be solved with this fad / gamechanger / whatever that nobody is experimenting with it in any meaningful way. I'm invested in one of those shady mining companies right now. The only thing that looks good to me is the crypto-trade.com stock since they seem to be getting more popular and share 50% of the profits every month in dividends. Looks like there is also an established porn site sharing profits, but I don't invest in things that deal in Fiat money.

Some, but nowhere near all, I'm willing to go down with the ship. While there is a good change it will die there are positives hitting the news every single day. If it doesn't die then the sky is the limit.

I actually expect something to be developed in 2014 that will make it infinitely easier for the average Joe to get into bitcoins. I know a lot of people that are interested until they try to figure it out. Someone will come along and plant a Paypal type deal on top of it then game on. Hopefully anyhow. :pimp
