The Conjuring

If you are looking for a scary horror movie, with no gore, no nudity, no sex, just pure fucking scares, watch this film. The Conjuring scared the shit out of me and I'm rarely frightened by movies.

You'll wanna check out James Wan's other films too

Dead Silence (2007)
Insidious (2010)
Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)

He's the best horror director of the past decade, his films are superb and he usually makes them on a shoestring budget.

Sadly he's stated recently he's done with the horror genre :disgust

The Conjuring was the best horror film I've seen in years!

The last time I was that impressed with a horror film was when I watched [Rec] (2007) five years ago!

The Conjuring was reminiscent of Amityville Horror (also involving the Warrens).

The Conjuring is really good.

Well I just watched it and wasn't impressed. The Conjuring is much, much scarier.

xNetworx 12-02-2013 06:16 PM

I thought it was a solid movie. Worth a watch :thumbsup

I hadn't seen something that scared as much since Amityville, Exorcist and Shining. It's up there with those greats in my opinion. My screams scared the shit out of the fellas sitting in front of me.

I haven't seen it yet but I may just have to go watch it now.

I will have to find someone to watch it with me - I am on my own in a big old house...

I scared myself shitless once here before and ended up on the neighbors sofa for the night.....

I also do not like to watch horror movies alone :)

The story line was something new I pretty much liked the movie as a whole.

I started to watch it, and at the beginning scene with the doll I remembered recently hearing how Chucky is based on a real doll. So I paused the movie and did a quick search and found out Chucky is based on 'Robert The Doll'. I pulled up some info on Robert the Doll such as he does not like being photographed without permission. I had a couple of windows opened and switched to a page with Google Search images...and I swear several of the images appeared to move.

Granted, the images were probably reloading from the cache, but it kinda freaked me out. I spent something like 20 minutes trying to recreate the event. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I was listenin' to some MP3s one night with the headphones plugged into the laptop. About ten seconds into a track, I hear this low, female voice say, "Helloooo...helloooo" in the headphones.

My first thought was someone had left a mic line open when recording the MP3. So I started it over. There was no voice the second time.

I was alone in the house, so it wasn't the wife or daughter. Windows were closed so it wasn't someone outside.

I chalked it up to some sort of radio inteference (FRS, FM, shortwave...I dunno) that somehow came across the computer.

A few days later I happened to mention it to the wife, and she told me our daughter heard the exact same female voice saying "Hellooo...hellooo" downstairs in the kitchen.

Still have no clue as to the origin.

Could be those pesky Jehovah's finding a new way to annoy us. :1orglaugh
