it does seem a bit bubble-like, just few months ago it was floating around $100, now it's $1000... without any good reason, it's not like amazon or ebay announced they accept bitcoins now....

of course it seems a bit bubble-like. nothing wrong with that. bubbles are not inheritently bad, and in fact, many feel they are part & partial to a thriving economy.

but my point was more along the lines of the doom & gloom predictions people make about btc. naysayers were declaring it was a bubble at $35, at $100, a $150, $200, $250, $500, $800. i mean so what. the internet was a bubble in 1999. look at the internet today.

Make ur own Bitcoins if u have a high traffic site, stick some ads up. Pretty easy to generate half a bitcoin with these guys and they pay out. I have withdrawn twice from them and never had any problems.

I have drawn out just under 2 BTC so with todays value thats just under 2k worth of $$

BTC is a gamble like everything else.

It's called speculation.. When the speculation is done with it crashes most likely because there is nothing to hold it at those levels. It will eventually crash that's a given, but if it can survive the crash from this amount, it should help strengthen it.

I think some people will cash out for the holidays but in guessing we are only half way to the next pop.

I am still kicking myself over choosing magic beans over bitcoins when that old lady stopped me on the way to the market, and it doesn't help that the huge vine that sprouted up in my garden when my mum threw them out of the window is going up almost as fast as the bitcoin price chart.

You'd be stupid to cash them out. They haven't even started to move.

They mean the long term, obviously. For example a few years. This crash, which is on the way up now by the way, won't hurt bitcoin.
