Seems on of the biggest BitCoin minig farm at HongKong. Construction of this farm began in August 2013, the mining operations started only in October.

If it's in China, it must be a "knockoff" BitCoin mining farm.

Interesting. I wonder how profitable it is. I heard in the U.S. the cost eat up most of the profit.

Everything is cheaper in China. I can buy a knock off item at a quarter of the price as here. It will come with free delivery.

Just the postage and packaging costs here would cost more than they charge for the whole damn thing.

It's always impressive seeing so much people investing so much time and money in something that will come down soon or late. It's impressive to see them so convinced that they are building something safe and secure. I can't understand it. But we have seen things like these over and over in the last 50 years. Heck, even in the last few hundred years, just check the tulipomania.

They will just move to the next crypto-craze. Bitcoin has produced tons of spinoff digital currencys that require cpu/gpu power to generate. If for whatever reason bitcoin crashes and is a nothing-burger there will be enough interest (and people invested in hardware) to make one of the other currencies out there valuable.

they know what they're doing. 99% of all bitcoins will be mined in ~3 more years. if i know that, they know that and launched anyhoo. impressive business model too, they sold shares and then closed that up.

but they are launching late, the difficulty to mine is growing exponentially and their farms aren't all that super duper

What you are looking at according the asicminer's announcement pic of 95 ASIC’s. capable of 30 GHash/s.

It has to be said though 30 GHash/s is not going to be making much of a dent in the current 30,000 GHash/s capability of the bitcoin network as a whole

Not too surprising. People gamble (I am talking about actual gambling) all the time. This one has better chances to succeed than gambling.
