I can't think of anything to add to your list...sums it up quite well.

I'd really love to see windows get a uniform working OS across both tablets and the PC, because it would be awesome to be able to install stuff like Photoshop on a tablet. I know the tablets aren't up to par to really run it now, but they will be capable of it soon enough. Hopefully Microsoft can get shit right next time around.

Yup I was hoping for that too. Unfortunately the tards were more focused on creating a unified interface rather than a unified code base.

Surface Pro runs full Windows 8.1, costs more too of course.

Mac still has the far superior OS - but if you want to edit video and pics on a light, thin, tablet - thats the reason to run windows

when android tablets were new in the market , one of my cousin called me from electronics expo , and was telling me the salesman was saying you can run all pc apps on tablet and tablets can replace the PC.
I asked him can tablet run photoshop , he said yes, it can run anything , i asked him what OS the tablet running and he said Android and i was like

Give it a few years... Microsoft might be hurting right now because of the risks they're taking; but as technology advances and hardware gets smaller, lighter and faster, M$ has the potential to dominate the market by being (so far) the only company to bridge their OS across all devices, giving users the same experience no matter if they're using a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

The only other "competition" right now is Ubuntu, but the development doesn't really seem to be making huge waves; not to mention, Linux will always have the software availability issues.
