Anytime I've bought a site for $10k+ there was a lawyer involved and they held the $ in escrow. I purchase sites with content and revenue so there is more involved than just the transfer of a domain.

Is there a specific type of lawyer that needs to be involved? Where is the best place to sell?

Most lawyers have a trust account for this type of thing.
As for places to sell, any adult related purchases I've made of a significant amount was brought to me by either the seller or a broker.

I used escrow.com to sell a site and it went nice and smooth.
