Going with Ibill versus Epoch ?
I've narrowed it down to going with either of these.
The advantage of ibill I hear is that they offer more billing solutions than epoch, ie. phone, can resell some tangible items, etc... on the other hand I hear epoch processes transactions like a MOFO and has a few more bells & whistles for the program owners.... anyone out there have 2:2 cents: to throw in on this from their personal experience I'd LOVE to hear it! thanks in advance... |
CCbill ???
|
Don't get me wrong, I love the people at ccbill, I know they run a top-notch service, etc...but there are a few issues/features that have made the decision for me to put them on a secondary rotation for cascading later down the road....
|
ibill has web900 billing.
epoch has everything else, and has great options such as ez-clicks... |
I can't believe nobody's pointed out the obvious drawbacks of iBill.
If you don't feel the need to get paid, definitly choose iBill! I've heard some really solid things about Epoch. |
Please do not use Ibill, ok so they have web 900 . But people are still owed thousands of $ because Ibill will not or cannot pay prior months of web 900 members.
If that is the only reason you want to use Ibill then dont use them. I think the most important requirement of any third party processor is Tech and Customer support and here Epoch wins hands down over all other processors. Use Epoch as your #1 and CC Bill as a back up maybe even Globil as a third ( if they ever get their website back up ???) Cindy xx :thumbsup :BangBang: :thumbsup |

I'd go with epoch over ibill... and ccbill over ibill... but as far as choosing between ccbill and epoch.. tough decision :)
|
iBill may or may not be reliable these days... some folks are getting paid, some have to fight for it. Certainly, most can agree that their customer service is about the worst you'd ever have to deal with. If something goes wrong, and odds are something will at some point, you're shit outta luck.
Epoch just plain kicks ass. Their feature set, conversions, rentention and customer service are all top knotch. |
We haven't used Epoch since they had payment problems a couple of year back, so my info may be a bit out of date. At the time, iBill had much better reporting than Epoch and it was easier to integrate iBill with our tracking system.
I'd say go with both. Use one as primary and one as secondary. Both iBill and Epoch are used by serious players in the industry. The only other processor that seems to come close is Jettis. |
Go with epoch, custom join forms, get rid of the CVV2 stuff, confuses the fuck out of the surfer and watch the sales fly, add cancelplus and crossbilling, and you will be in heaven. :)

I find it interesting that somebody who reads and posts on this (or many others) board still considers iBill an option at the moment. Sure, you get people slag off any company but the amount of different people with iBill issues is huge. Could be that they will get their act together again but in the meantime how could anyobe even consider them for a new project?

I'm do not do any biz with the mindframe of 'at the moment.' I try to think a little more longterm than that... I'm sure ibill will come back and be a major player, I seriously doubt they're going out DMR style... My considerations are flexibility in billing, processing as many attempts as possible (minus the obvious dirtbags), features for the program owner, and of course payouts... I don't judge a program on a one time fuckup, now if ibill had a rash of non-payment issues of course I would never consider them... so far this thread seems to clearly point to epoch as being THE processor to go with of the 2 mentioned in the subject... thanks for all the feedback so far... |

While I am not going into my thoughts about it, I would choose Epoch of those two.
Did anyone happen to notice Intercepts new corporate structure? |

Ibill doesn't pay, nor honor the trust that people put in them. Their support is a joke.
Epoch is solid. Ccbill rocks. |
If you have a get out of trouble free card go with Ibill. It seems to me they are trying...I have had all my payments on time and they set up my newest site within 48 hours. Their scrub these days blows everyone else out of the water.
I've never used Epoch so no comment, but others swear by them. I might mention ACPay. Good scrub. Their affiliate system bites it though. |

I am not saying anything negative about ANY OTHER processor, just that for me, my comfort level is important with anyone I collect a dime from. |

Whoever you go with, use the opposite as a backup.
Both solid processors. |
Why dont you use Both, and then ever throw in CCBill or PSW at the same time :)
With the mpa2 program you can use 3 processors cascading. If one doesnt take the customers credit card the second processor might, or the third one. http://www.mansionproductions.com/mpa2.html And not only that, but from your admin panel you can change who you want to have first, second and third in the cascading everyday from a drop down menu. This way you can test who will give you the best sign up ratio. Cant get any better then that ! :) |
good call Garry... every processor could totally work different for you.. and its nice to be able to have a backup that you can switch out easily if someone goes down... or worse does not pay...
