I have a tough time getting my head round things like this.

A distant star exploded which was 30-40 times bigger than our sun. The light from the explosion took 4 billion years to reach us and the explosion would have only lasted a minute..

During the explosion the star would collapse in on itself creating a black hole and producing a gamma ray burst.

Sound like science fiction to me.

I still question how they can possibly know half the shit they tell us.

We can only ever assume they are right and it's facts...

Because you usually have to be pretty smart to prove them wrong..

no, because closer ones aren't anywhere near as big or powerful.

I'll say one thing though, if we were to ever figure out a way to harness energy like that the universe would become a lot smaller to us fast.
