What To Do In San Fran?
 

I am going to be there at the end of March for a few days doing some vacationing. Could anyone suggest some stuff to do other than Alcatraz, Golden Gate and the Fisherman's Wharf? Those are things we have already planned to do. :)

Don't go to Fishemans Warf for starters. Horrible tourist trap. If you want to drop some cash S.F. has some of the bets restaurants in the world. Napa and Sonoma are great to tour the wineries. Marin Headlands is beautiful to hike, bike, etc... If you want to hit a stripper bar Mitchell Brothers is world famous. Best sushi in North America. If you promote Fucking Machines or any of their sites they are based right in S.F. Anyways, I am jealous. I used to live in Sausalito and run across the Golden Gate bridge everyday. Now I am freezing my ass off in Montreal.

If you're in the mood for chinese make sure you visit the House of Nan King on Kearny/Columbus...

There is something about this little hole in the wall that blows ANY other chinese restaurant out of the water. There are tons of awards lining the entire place.

My main advice, avoid Fisherman warf!!!!!, youll be there for a few minutes waitng for the alcatraz boat, & unless you like panhandlers or refigerator magnet shoping, Or want to see 10 thousand buss tour asians & their cameras, skip it. Oh but there is a great place to see sealions between the warf & alcatraz docks. Also GET YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!! Golden gate is cool, visit palce of fine arts & golden gate park while your in that area. Haight Ashbury good place to hang for street shoping & peopel watching. Chinese food cookie factory, Lombard street, & Transamerica building are worth while too. San Fracisco Museum of modern art, is cool to if your into that sort of thing, the exhibits can really be hit or miss though. but if you take anything from this post make sure its, BUY YOUR ALCATRAZ TICKETS IN ADVANCE!

What you see depends upon your personal preferences. This suggestion may sound lame, but if you are not familiar with the fantastic city of S.F., start off with a guided tour of the city. Take a walk along Union Street. Go to the top of Coit Tower and take pictures. Spend a day using the cable cars, buses, and taxis and wear your *walking shoes*!!

Go across *the bridge* and visit Sausalito. Drive north up the winding road to Stinson Beach, and if you have time, keep driving until you reach Russian River. Forget Alcatraz unless you have a prison fetish. Not worth the time. If you are intent upon going to Fisherman's Wharf, indulge in a fresh crab and lobster cocktail.

Check out Bimbos, one of the oldest restaurant/clubs in the city with the mermaid in the fishtank. Walk through Chinatown, a great place for people watching and buying gifts for kids. If you want to work off some of the calories from all the great food, jog around Golden Gate Park or play a game of tennis on the grounds. Depending on the weather, there are outside movies
shown in the park.

If you are into kinky clubs, check out the gay-oriented *For You* club with a nightclub atmosphere. If you like blues, check with the tour guide about the acts who are currently in the city.

Take a ferry ride to Berkeley. Make sure you have lots of film or digital cards to take the many pictures you MUST take.

If all else fails, get high with Kremen, and make believe you did all of the above!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup
