I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid of falling to a horrifically messy death. Ever had a muscle cramp out of the blue? Or a sneeze or coughing fit without warning?

People like the kids in those photos aren't brave, I think like many adrenaline junkies their brains are wired differently and they don't register fear the way most people do. There are some bizarre neurological/brain disorders where people are fearless, they lock these people up because if they don't they will immediately start doing crazy dangerous painful things to themselves.

The brave are people who understand the danger they're in, experience the mental and physical fear and complete the task that's before them.

Of course they are brain damaged. Or brain non existent.
