I think my disposable income can handle a $2 daily Americano (oh my God, I have a cell phone too!). For that incredible fee, I get outta the office for at least an hour and flirt with the local cute barristas.

Perhaps it does seem like an expensive indulgence in the Inland Empire.

Ugh. No way. Starbuck's burns their beans. Nasty shit. I MUCH prefer Seattle's Best Coffee, but since I live in Bum-fuck Tennessee now I don't get any SBJ anymore.

*cries*

:(

I don't agree with their business ethics, but you're right about one thing. Starbucks rules for finding local cuties.

They do indeed burn their beans - glad to see I'm not alone on this one.

In AZ I would go to the Coffee Plantation all the time, still looking for a new spot here in Cali.

Down by the University here in town you can actually see 2 Starbucks locations at the same time, LOL how does that make business sense?

I'm not exactly partial to Starbucks either, but rather the concept of leaving the office to get coffee and relax. I usually rotate between a couple of local places. Whether it be Starbucks, Seattle's Best, The Coffee People, Tully's, Diedrich, etc., I think dropping a few bucks a day is money well spent.

As for the "burning the beans" comments above. I agree that their traditional roast coffee is over-roasted. However, they have carried light roast for years now - you just have to ask for it.
