Fuck me it itches!!! (Who has ink?)
 

I got all of my left arm, shoulder, left side of my chest and left side of my upper back outlined in one long ass (8 hours) and painful tattoo session last Friday - it's not like it's my first tattoo, but for some reason, it hurt a lot more than I remember it.

Now 4 days later the itching has set in and it's bad lol. I am trying to write up descriptions for scenes and am having a horrible time keeping focus :Oh crap

Who else got ink?

Nothing on earth comes close to soothing that itch quote like a bag of frozen peas. Invest in a bag, or two. :thumbsup

Ive got about 24 hours worth of work on my back and know that feel all too well. Slap it when it itches!

Dude, I've had my full upper bicep tattoo for over a year now and fuck if it doesn't constantly itch and drive me insane if I scratch it in the smallest way possible...

Whoa I thought they were only supposed to itch during the healing process. At least that's how it's been for every other tattoo I've gotten (got the first one in 1998).

I've got a pretty big back piece and I remember those first few days after it healed up. I had my partner smacking me on the back for days! Cold does help, like Trollenstein says.

And VDBucks...if it still itches, that's not a good thing. My brother has a ton of tattoos but there's one on his thumb that constantly bubbles and itches. He's had it for months and he figures it was a bad batch of ink. :-/

Could be allergy to the ink color. Most common is red or yellow. If it is an allergy, the itching would be persistent. Could also be due to some trace metals in the tattoo ink. It could also be from sun or chemical exposure (such as the chemicals present in new, unwashed clothing.)

Slap it gently when the itching gets bad. NEVER SCRATCH IT.

Like another user said, wrap a bag of peas in a towel and put that on there too.

Clearly you didn't get a copy of the rules:

You should be drunk when getting a tattoo and stay drunk during the entire healing process.

Once you see it you will probably wish you were drunk anyway!

No I did that in Hungary in 1998 and it's not a good idea lol
