I think the demand put on healthcare.gov is in fact a testament that it is something that is in demand...that kind of demand certainly indicates a need to me. Its way too early to call it a success or a failure...

Exactly. The insurance itself doesn't go live until January and it will likely take different states a while to get people enrolled and into the program. Many of those without insurance now don't have it because they either can't afford it or they can't get it because of preexisting conditions. For them this will work great.

By the time the next presidential election comes up we will have a solid take on just how good or bad it is and that reality will likely play a major role in the next election.

It's a bit too early to call it a success. This is a process, and this is one of the first steps of the process. Obamacare is a law and it will go into place shortly, and then we'll need to find out where it has issues and fix them.

This is exactly what they did with Romneycare. It went into place, figured out what did't work, then they fixed it.

I read an op-ed in the NYPost last week where some dumb bitch was saying that if you're young, you shouldn't buy health insurance. Some other stupid Republican on a talk show said the alternative to Obamacare should be "healthcare savings plans". They live so much in their own little bubble, they think everyone can save enough money to pay $30,000 if you break a leg.

We are stuck with Obamacare, plain and simple, we will watch as working people get ass raped with higher insurance bills, high deductibles when they need to use it.
