Phone numbers on web sites
For all you US webmasters, do any of you put the 1+ in front of phone numbers on web sites? I see this on both sites and advertisements and its so annoying.
Not as annoying as phone numbers looking like math problems: 212.323.6352 which seems to have died on it's own. </rant> |
I only list my number on one site, which targets a local audience that knows the area code too, so no +1
I also don't want folks from Uzbekistan calling my cell in the wee hours, so that helps too... Oh, let me add that if you have a paysite and do your own support, the +1 is vital |
These are still phone systems in the USA that require to dial 1 - I have Verizon Fios home phone in texas and have to dial 1 for anything but a local call :(

In Canada most calls need a one

Can't please all the people all the time

Most cell phones do not require 1. Many VOIP phones either.
I just see it as extraneous to put the 1, kinda like when my father calls a company and says he is calling long distance. No one cares about that for the most part anymore. |
