Do Pinned Threads get Less Views & Comments than a Regular Thread?
So when a sponsor wants to push new material they will often ask for the thread to be pinned to the top of the page.
Is this counter intuitive? Does having your thread at the top guarantee more eyeballs or do people avoid it because it's pinned? Personally I won't look at a pinned thread unless it looks really interesting yet I could bumb a 2-bit thread for weeks. |
I tend not to look at them either. With them pinned I pretty much assume it's an ad type of thread.

I filter them out

bullseye.
I generally post ad threads a day or so before, make an immediate pin request, and then keep it floated till the pin happens views/responses fall off the cliff as soon as it's pinned, but, part of the game really |
Sticky threads are pretty much invisible. Most people scroll past without even considering it.
|
its as if they are invisible, I don't even rollover them
|
I skim right by pinned threads as they = ads
I read the title, however (never click in) so it's important to have a concise, descriptive title Something like "AWE Launches LiveJasmin.com, Offers Top Payouts for Live Cam Promoters" would be a far better title than "Big Bonus Days -- Details Inside" The first acts almost like a hard text link while the latter is just spam :2 cents: |
I never read them because I assume they are ads.
