Are all adult surfers useless parasites with no eyes or ears?

I have always wondered about that. You cannot sell them anything in the world else, it seems, and these days you cannot even sell them adult content. Who in the world is paying for all of that bandwidth? Billions of locust swarming down to consume all of the free content, daily, buying nothing ever from anyone at any time..

I do understand that there is a huge huge shift toward free, online. Like the guy who invented the razors, gave them away, and charged for the blades. So .3% of everyone is supposed so support everyone, these days, I guess?

But is there even a slight fraction who BUYS anymore? Most sites seem to make their actual money selling ADS now- not content. The ADS must be producing SOMETHING, I suppose? Or is it the bigger fool theory... what?

Just some random thoughts I had ... interesting to discuss, maybe, if anyone is left on here who actually cares about any of this ...... Cue the crickets and moonlight :1orglaugh

How much do YOU buy from porn sites?

You can milk a cow a thousand times but skin it only once.

Had the industry learned this lesson, we wouldn't be where we are today :2 cents:

Interesting point. We should skin more industries.

Well they certainly won't buy anything if we think of them as useless parasites! They are customers that we must sell to, you shouldn't treat the people that provide your income like shit. Now I don't fully believe in the "customer is always right" motto but if you're a good salesman you go above and beyond for your customers and well...I'm sure everyone here has been to a thousand sales seminars here (at least I hope!) so I won't go on about it :).

Stop worrying about selling things online and whos buying, worry about getting more traffic instead. Its easy then to put exocliks/ero-adv/plugrush ads and make profits.:winkwink:

You are 100%. Companies juste love burning money on ad spots for the hell of it. :upsidedow

In all seriousness, there are still a LOT of buyers and tons of new credit card toting surfers popup on the net everyday. Its just a different game for affiliates now because of all the free porn, surfers are getting educated, there is more competition and a bunch of other factors.

I blame it on the lowering of IQs from all those giant flashing join buttons and booty jiggle gifs.

Yes, tubes destroyed the industry. I like the "you can only skin cow once" analogy.

The last time I was able to get any real traffic I was making about one sale per 100,000 uniques ... What are these ads you speak of? Are those like contextual ads for adult? Like adsense type of a thing?

I was under the impression that those were only doing well for the ones who had huge brand recognition... like saturated all everywhere.... Can affiliates still make anything? Or is it like AWE and AFF with their tricky shit?
