84 MPG car, US built, $6,800. Would you drive it?
A daily driver. Seats people up to 6'8". Get's 84 MPG on the highway. And it only cost $6,800. Something even the trolls on this forum can afford.

That's a motorcycle, just sayin.
|
oh man, let down.. why 3 wheeler, why?
|
judging by the girth of your fingers you probably wouldn't fit in it
|
|
For $6,800 it's not worth the pain of everyone pointing and laughing at you as you drive by.
|
Sucks to live in a helmet law states with one of those :1orglaugh
|
Definitely not for the morbidly obese. You'll have to stick to your Harley.

No... and its too bad that they invested the money in it.
I would really suck to be someone who has to market cars. First theirs the technical details such as miles per gallon, acceleration, etc. Then there's style, engine size, power, steering type, wheels, tires, 1 exhaust or 2, body style, color, size, terrain it was built for, etc. There are so many variables when it comes to cars, and car makers have to hit every single one of those points to sell the car. That being said, cars like this one do not appear to me at all. It looks stupid, its too small, and looks like it will get crushed in an accident. Regardless of the great mpg, it still sucks. Oh and its not even electric. Bah! |

One thing you when you go for a ride is that over 90% of the cars can't use the commuter lane because they are only carrying one person, the driver. I think this is a solution for people that have a long commute every morning to get to work. $8600 is less than most 5 year old cars and with the fuel savings, it's pretty cool. I've driven a 3 wheel car, they are very stable |
top gear would have a field day ridiculing that thing.
i wouldn't mind seeing it get enough traction to at least get that far! lolx |
They sell something similar to that but it's a open cockpit. The problem is they are very small and would likely be more dangerous to drive than riding a bike.. Nothing at all wrong with the concept of the car, but the average car on the road in the US is at least 2 times the size of that. That means you aren't going to fair too well in a crash with another car much less a full size truck, that would likely just drive right over it.

People like to save money where they can. With the cost of an electric car and the amount it cost to charge it, this is less expensive |

3 wheel cars have been around for over a hundred years. And they've always been kinda cool and very good on gas mileage.
Reason they didn't really catch on was gasoline was so damn cheap and everybody wanted "Bigger" Check these out from the Morgan Car Company: http://www.morgan3wheeler.co.uk/history.html Everything from this: to this 2011 model: |
I would drive it if given to me, but I wouldn't buy it.

"The 2011 Morgan 3 Wheeler is a fusion of modern technology into a classic design. By fitting a modern V-twin engine and Mazda 5-speed gearbox the car provides 'get in and drive' simplicity and reliability. A sturdy tubular frame and two rollover bars surround the passenger compartment. An aerodynamic 'bullet' hull protects the occupants from the weather. However, the feeling of freedom and contact with the road through the front wheels will bring to mind the joy of driving cars from the 20's and 30's but with none of their fragility or temperament. As Capt. Albert Ball discovered all those years ago, no car captures the feeling of flying quite like a Morgan, and this is so with the latest 3 Wheeler which features a leather padded aircraft-style cockpit." Here's where you build and price it: http://www.morgan3wheeler.co.uk/carcreate.html |
I wonder how the traction is during rain or snow.
|
there's a problem with that morgan 3 wheeler- the front end.

And I believe them. I have a Jeep Wrangler with 4 wheel drive. I also owned an MG Midget for years. And believe it or not...in ice and snow and rain, my MG did just as well as my jeep. I'd ride right past people skidding and sliding everywhere. But my MG had balanced weight distribution in front and back. This ELIO does too. Makes all the difference in the world driving in ice, snow, or rain. |
Good luck driving that..

Id rather walk
