Why Does It Take Visa Up To 3 Weeks To Approve A New Site?

I've been setting up some new sites through CCBill.

It seems that within 24 to 48 hours CCBill will approve a new site, and then within 24 hours of that time, MasterCard will approve the site.

Then, for reasons which are beyond me, it can take up to 21 days for Visa to finally approve the site!

The whole process results in close to an entire month of a Visa-less site, which is pretty obnoxious, considering their annual fees.

This issue is compounded when you are trying to add sites within a network.

Any idea why Visa takes this long to deal with site approvals, or is this just another CCBill issue?

Thanks in advance.

It doesn't. Go merchant or Epoch, they are both quite fast.

So, if you request a new site approval through Epoch, what the turn-around, and how quickly before the site can accept Visa?

Why would CCBill say this delay is on Visa, if it is not?

It makes no sense...

Try for yourself and see. :-)

You should have a second processor anyway.

I submitted 2 new sites a few months ago for Epoch to review. Both sites were processed by Epoch within 24 hours! So... submitted and the next day allready got this mail:

This email is to notify you that you have been approved and activated for all credit cards including Visa.

Epoch is Fcking Great! Try them and you don't want another biller anymore!

CCBill either has a long queue or else they are pretty low on Visa's priority list.

Private merchants for me approve within 5 business days, Epoch can be faster but they are also extremely nitpicky and will most likely give you a laundry list of stuff to modify that no one else will notice.

Okay, thanks for all of the replies and suggestions, but for those of you who use CCBill - what is your experience with this? How long is your average wait for Visa, through CCBill, to add themselves as a billing option? I spoke with CCBill about this a few days aga, and I was told it could take up to 21 days BEYOND the approval of CCBill and Master Card. Why would this be?

I don't know but it used to be very quick. Seems like a year ago or so there were a lot of personnel changes over there, rumors of a change in management I think and since then it has been slower.
