how repubs will get back the white house
christie won tonight. Not because he's a great governor. because of Sandy & taking some selfies with the oreo cookie.
he will get the nod in 16, same way the last 2 moderates did; conservatives will be unable to coalesce around a standout conservative. he will lose. Hilary will run, & win. She's grasping for immortality, after all. But Hilary will be a disaster. just like her rose law firm, her 1993 health plan & her 2008 campaign. Everytime she wears the big boy pants, debacles follow. the economy will be due for recession. But this time, the govt will be so in debt, no bailouts this time. This will make the recession extra spicy. repubs will finally rally around a conservative, since moderates have failed 3 times in a row to win the prize. Paving the way for eric cantor (or paul ryan) to slide into the oval office. :winkwink: |
I don't think we'll be recessioning at the time, also the republicans have to deal with demographics slowly getting worse for them with more and more brown people. Additionally some of the moneyed interests are probably going to start pulling their support from the activist base after being scared about the stupidity of threatening the debt limit in anything other than a fake patty cake bargaining way. They already lost the Grand Bargain they wanted because of the extremity, although they'll get another bite of that cherry next year.
Hillary will take over Obama's data-mining-voting-driving machine and most likely nudge them out, they're certainly doing themselves no favors at the moment even though Christie should be popular. Still, hard to predict the end of the current cycle let alone two. Obama could get caught shifting into his reptilian gay kenyan muslim form using rolled bible pages to felch a bald eagle to death... *shrugs*. Certainly not looking forward to hearing about Benghazi for half a year during Hillary's campaign.. |
I think the republicans need a more moderate candidate not a more conservative candidate..
When you watch the republican primary it is like a race to see who can be more batshit crazy. That lingers and a lot of moderate voters end up leaning left. Also, as Bhutocracy said, the racial and age demographics are skewing heavy democrat right now. If they don't get a candidate who can convince young voters and non-white voters to vote they won't win the white house. |
