It sucks to be a kid today
 

Kid fails to turn in homework and I know it before the kid gets home because I got an email. Not to mention I can look up grades 24/7.

Whatever they get playstation 4 and iphone. And don't have to congregate by the drive in diner to meet their friends

I thought it would suck cause everything that use to be fun to do is now banned or illegal .

Oh yeah -- you can't get away with jack shit these days. My wife is a teacher and has a class website. The parents go to that site every night to see what the kids did this week, and what's planned for next week. Any crafty kids couldn't pull a scam if they wanted to.

The kids today lack discipline,they know they can get away with almost anything with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.bring back the strap

If they are getting a public school education that's already a given!

True, cant get away with bunking off either. sms arrives if the kid is even 5 minutes late.

It's wrong, kids need to be able to feel they've beat the system every once in awhile.

In LA, charter skool is the new stoopid as well. Agenda driven education taught by ass clowns. I feel bad for kids in the US these days.

I am a nostalgic, always thinking I was a happy kid a few decades ago.

Doing your homework with the help of the Internet is a lot easier, so it's not that bad.

I agree, I genuinely feel nervous walking past a bunch of teenagers in case they start hurling abuse or stab me!

Your kid needs to handle his teachers better....

This couldn't be anymore true. I don't have kids but I like to think if I ever did, I'd be a good parent, not too hard on them but trying to make them realize that school is a small part of the rest of your life, suck it up and get good grades, the real fun begins when you are an adult.

I blame parents more then anything else. I have friends with teens that play outside, practice several team sports and there is No ALL DAY Xbox or Facebook shit happening in their houses.

As a parent who gives a big fuck about his kid's development... it's sad to see how many parents out there don't give a shit. I volunteer at my son's school from time to time and it's so obvious what kind of home life and future (or lack of) so many of these kids have.

In some cases the praise I give some of these kids like on their work or projects, and the act of throwing around a football with them at recess, etc. is the only positive reinforcement they'll get all day.
