Giving up..

How much traffic do you send to a sponsor without any sales before you give up on that sponsor?

2MuchMark 10-24-2013 10:41 PM

Why give up?

Why not talk to the sponsor and ask them for some help? It is in their best interest that you send them the best possible traffic so they should try to help you.

9,256 hits

send them 100k hits and then judge i guess, and also mostly USA traffic, if you can target traffic that would be even better :)

ls101 10-25-2013 03:51 AM

Around 1000 if I aint get any sales for the first month I stop! :D

Depends on how much of your traffic you are sending. Like in percentages. If you're sending only 5% of your traffic to a sponser (that will produce 1000+ hits to the sponser's tour) then I would give it time. But if you're sending like 25% of your traffic (or more) then I would have a very short leash. LOL

Good luck!

Example - You know you can send your traffic to sponsor'a' and it does $10 per 1000 uniques then send 3/4000 to new sponsor'b' - If it isn't averaging out about the same (or better!) then drop them.....

Of course that's only if you know your traffic well - If you don't then you really should be doing a,b,c testing with different sponsors - Then you need to throw as much as you can at the test...

I think it depends more on the niche of your own traffic matching the sponsor. I.e. 1-100k of my bukkake traffic won't do shit with a dating, BBW or stocking sponsor. If you're matched up okay, you should see results in maybe 5k. At least enough to compare with other sponsors in the same niche, anyway

Way I see it is I'm the guy standing outside the night club handing out the flyers to get people in. If I get 200 people in the club and not a single one buys a drink, who's responsible? Me for not getting the right people in.. or the club for not closing the deal?

Usually 1000 visitors who click on a text links.

The best is to compare with other sponsors so you can see how good your traffic converts in average.

I find that if I sign up to a new sponsor (especially NATS) I'll get a sale pretty quickly, the second may never appear though!

ErectMedia 10-25-2013 07:20 PM

2003 wasn't unusual to see 1:xx or 1:xxx at worst so few k and then pull the plug. Today can sometimes see 1:xxx to 1:xxxx so would say 5-10k max then pull the plug if nothing. All depends on the traffic source/quality and how targeted your traffic is. Finely tuned targeted= pull the plug sooner versus Garbage traffic= let it ride a bit longer

Yep, I think they just give you a sell manually for putting up the links.
It's motivating at least.

Lets say average ratio is 1:5000. That means you should send at the very least 4-5 times that in order to get decent view.
