I don't understand what you are saying? There is "only one decent blogger" ?? You are saying that AVN & xBiz are phony? Are you hiring an editor? Do you need someone to create a new site? I follow industry news usually on Twitter or Tattle or one of those mentioned above.

Both AVN and XBIZ seem more like press release aggregators at times and they haven't gave a shit about affiliates since 2007 (or at least that is how it feels) but sometimes they do post interesting things. Sometimes they are surprisingly objective too. However, yes, Mikesouth.com is my source for some of the things the others won't publish.

avn was never a news source to start with it was an ad source. Ever read avn when it was in print in the hay day,it was 250 pages of ads. It hard to be a news source because you have to bite the hand who buys ads. Mike makes very little to zip from his blog so he can piss at will with no worries of revenue.

Plenty of news on XBIZ even thought most (if not all) is paid.

What kind of "news" are you guys looking for? On a day to day basis, what happens is not all drama, it is the grind of day to day activity.

It may seem boring, but that is just the way it is. The press releases are part of that.

It may not be sexy,but thats how it works, busineses do not experience extreme highs and lows on a daily basis :2 cents:

Yes there is a need for one, Mainstream is very much in need of facts about this industry, facts that avn and xbiz do not provide. The result is more and more they are turning to me. I am quoted by or profiled in more places than I can name, from Fox News to Die Welt from the Daily Beast to Forbes and I ALWAYS hear the same thing from them. They tell me that they couldn't get anything useable from AVN or XBiz.

The net result is that Mikesouth.com is no longer a loss leader for me, it actually breaks even since I dont pay myself.

It could probably make a lot more but I dont aggressively pursue advertisers. I would certainly consider working with someone on that front and growing it into what AVN and Xbiz SHOULD be. I have traffic that rivals theirs and Im just one guy....
