Spent so many hours getting this thing to work... criticism?

No emotion, change h1 HOME to a wide picture? Idk really feel like something is missing, Not sure if bunch of text is good for a landing page to get your visitor 0.3sec attention:)

Only checked it on my phone but from that it looks good.

Yeah, The H1 Home tag is meh. I like having a picture there better -saves me having to spend an assload of time messing with CSS files. Google is intelligent enough to read the text and know what it says anyway. I think it looks clean.

Do you think I should have a slider for that instant burst of user attention? I just feel like the service renders people wanting to, well, you know, read.

Pricing is so dependent on the project, so I don't really list it because there are so many variables at play. I'd find a catch-all "we'll write for 2 cents a word) to be completely counter to how I would like the business to run. After all, just today I did an 100 word project that I charged $25 for - on the other hand, I also did 100 word blog posts for $2 a pop.

It's just not practical to put a blanket value on our content and the client's requirements.

I would agree with the no emotion - in my view ( for what it is worth) The site needs to look more inviting/personal - Writing/content is all about connections right? You want to connect with the reader to take them along to click at the end or whatever your goal is.
So your site needs to make that same connection, maybe get a video done explaining your price points? as you mentioned you don't quote prices, but a simply video could explain this, just make sure the video looks professional.
Maybe some nicer graphics/images something to make it pop more. You are dealing with an industry that function of visual stimulation.

Anyway , It is a nice site and well laid out. Wish you all the success in the venture.

Only change I would make would be to change 'Hello there" to something like "We do quality text content for cheap" ....or something like that....let the visitor know exactly what you do loud and clear.

Added a quick "simple" section that tells people what we do as soon as you hit the page. Better?

IMHO the body copy is too light for the regular weight variant of the font, making it difficult to read on a white background or at smaller sizes.

I would suggest using a heavier variant for the body copy.
