eventually we will need to genetically enhance our skin, skeleton, muscles, organs etc. to handle more radiation from the sun (and other possibly unnatural sources) and other hostile bio-events.

Also, when we/if we do travel off this rock for good, we will need to 'evolve' in to a species that can handle a few dozen generations to be born, raised, and living entire lives in space flight toward the next destination.. :glugglug
