Really Useful Limited Says .XXX Performing Better Than .Com?s
http://www.thedomains.com/2013/10/15...ter-than-coms/
It wouldn't be a surprise to me if that's true, since they're getting really good .xxx domains. I doubt anything but the really good ones would perform all that well though compared to similar costed .com or even .net or .org (which given the prices being paid for the .xxx, it'd be the same name in .net or .org). What say you all? |
I'l say how it is more isolated cases then a standard practice.
|
Also, people like the more hardcore content on the .xxx sites and the promos for them, at least that's what I'm seeing. (ex: danejones.com > orgasms.xxx and fakeagent.com > casting.xxx)
But the .xxx's also do rank very well by themselves on SEs. :upsidedow |
casting.xxx converts at 1:320
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA right |
more icm registry propoganda. google does not favor .xxx over .com. end of story.
gees. |
100% bullshit, any extension is treated equally (by google at least).
This comes from personal experience (xxxxx domains). |
.xxx are worthless.

Would you say that if you just spent $600k on .xxx domains? Anyone who knows how to use Google if that's true or not

Would you say that it is true if somebody invested $800K on recently acquired .xxx domains are cheerleading for ICM? Further, do you think a surfer gives a shit if .xxx or .com is after the domain name? |
Sorry beaner....
If you "supposedly" spent $600k on on rubbish .xxx domains would you tell everyone they rank better then .com's? Anyone who has even a basic SEO skill level knows that .xxx do not out rank .com in an way shape or form. This is your standard run of the mill publicity bullshit that goes around all the time :2 cents: |

What is silly is that .sex, .fuckme, .adult, .hardcore is all available to take. Some .xxx names are def. gaining steam. Unless google and ICM registry work out a deal (doubtful)... .xxx will just be an overpaid tld. But remember... .xxx made their movement by injecting fear in the buyers, and for that, and that alone, should be shunned by everyone. Again though, this is adult, and in general there are no morals. Just like the irony of the owner of youporn.com registered in late 2005 now becoming a supporter of some other scumbag. |
Big biz here
|
I'd say that if you have a really good site...and you market the fuck out of it...then yeah, it will do well.
That's always been the case. Has nothing to do with it being .xxx or not. If they have the same site on .com I would bet that all things being equal, the .com would easily outperform the .xxx every time. |

his domain name is on the videos shorter, easier-to-remember domains perform better. common language words are good "orgasms" is shorter and identifiable as opposed to "dane jones" which doesn't mean anything to anyone unless they already know the brand. apply it to "fakeagent" vs "casting" for the same reason above. We've tested this. Adding even a single extra letter can offset traffic by 10+%. And don't get started on "www". JT's xxx domains were put up and marketed first, if I recall correctly. Before manwin forbid xxx domains on their network. The age might explain the better search engine results, but it isn't as if his search engine traffic is organic longtail keywords in his genre. It's people typing in his domain in google when they startup the browser. Want proof? Type in our domain, "joymii.com" in google trends and compare it to another domain. Hope this info helps :) |

JT knows what he is doing - props!

he could of gotten some really good .com's for that price. adult .com's don't sell for the insane prices they used to but instead he spends over half a mil on .xxx domains that really have no worth? how is any .xxx domain worth much of anything when there are only 26,000 active domains in tld?

?Google ranks them higher because they clearly identify the content as adult. This means that traffic to my .XXX sites has been pre-qualified by search engines and conversions from visitor to member are considerably higher.? What the article is eluding to is that .xxx is THE extension for adult, and it is bullshit. I would bet $1 that $800K did not exchange hands. It is simply an agenda to try and market an extension that everyone hates because of the methods used to try and originally market the extension. The owner has every intention on cornering the market on adult tld's and open up a bunch of new ones, like .sex etc. Then they all become worthless in the end. It's just, quite simply, total bullshit. |
few issues with saying XXX is performing better. One can you compare it to the matching dotcom? Is the XXX domain getting hundreds of thousands of views for each video on the tubes with the url stamped on the video? So basically the tube sites are branding the domain?
If you add to the argument because we the good dotcom has been taken we have seen great results by using the dotXXX because if we had to go with a dotcom we wouldn't have been able to use as good a name or keyword in the brand. |
pure bs

i would agree with JT about .xxx
and i would say that all old extension will not rank on adult keywords that much as they do now, just for easy way for google to filter traffic. |
I do think it's horseshit that .xxx is outranking a similar .com under similar conditions for adult terms on the basis that Google "prequalifies" .xxx as more fitting. Having said that, I'm sure after building up on them that they may get some rankings (due to lots of links etc.) and that even as a watermark on tube vids that they could increase type-ins over the typical .com. But IMO no way in hell they'd have higher type-ins over similarly costed .com or even the same .net. I could be wrong, but with how few .xxx I ever come across in search, I don't see how most avg people would be aware it's even an extension. It's not like it's in the press anymore.
|
Just spent a few minutes on Google seeing if .XXX sites were listing better than .COM. I must be using a different Google than JT does, but good luck to him nonetheless. I'm sure he'll turn them into very profitable sites.

Stats, overall, all uniques on site I just worked on: May Ratio: 1/973 June Ratio: 1/1029 July Ratio: 1/801 August Ratio: 1/892 September Ratio: 1/1095 October Ratio: 1/386 What month do you think something changed? :2 cents: This isn't about me, or his stats really, or my ability to take those stats less then 1:200 :upsidedow ... it is about ICM Registry and trying to cornhole the industry. Remember them saying how .XXX sites will be heavily regulated and illegal shit is focus of campaign? Well, that was all smoke and mirrors. Think about this... if the industry was to embrace .XXX and buy them all up, that would give ICM a lot of money to then further their agenda. That agenda would be to mandate all adult content be placed on a .XXX extension. They would campaign to eliminate all competition by trying to pass laws that adult content cannot be placed on .com, .net, .biz, .info, etc. They are, without any doubt in my mind, trying to corner the adult tld extensions. And they will campaign for more tlds, under their control. Well... if you have a gay site, it needs to be under .gay extension, etc. |

as for as type in traffic and just googling words, please explain how if .xxx is so crappy you can Google things such as indian pussy, black whores, asian cunt, just to name a few and put them together as one word or seperate them or whatever, and I don't see .com for those domains anywhere in sight, but you do see the .xxx extension. Unless the .coms for same key words are just not websites or available to purchase .
|
they definitely get a lot of press every time they buy a domain. The registry also is banking on their success so I think they prioritize the Really Useful domains when they send traffic to sites. They probably have some sort of agreement to overpay for domains in exchange for press and traffic.
|
Worked at a mainstream company when .xxx was launching. The marketing material for .xxx was pretty damn close to blackmail. For $x you could pre-register your trademark.xxx, for $x-1 you could "block" others from registering your trademark.xxx. We bought a dozen or more "blocks", because they convinced the legal department that someone was sure to run [trademark].xxx as a gay midget clown donkey scan porn site.
Fuck .xxx |

I said it above, scroll up. |
.xxx is doing GREAT!!!

I wouldnt think the general porn oublic would think ".xxx" when trying to surf before, but I guess they are now.

.xxx and the icm registry isn't about protecting children from sexually explicit pornography, what the icm registry has going there is a money making racquet! :upsidedow
