Human shield is affraid :)

Latest on the news :)
The Human shield hippies that drove to Iraq from the UK and other EU countries are back on their way home..
The reason: They are affraid for their security and lives :1orglaugh It must be a SHOCKING realization for them I would guess :1orglaugh
How dumb can people be?? :Graucho :helpme

chodadog 03-02-2003 05:48 AM

Wasn't risking their lives for a cause they believed in, the whole point? That's pretty pathetic that they packed their shit up and left. Media whores.

The Iraqi's demanded they station themselves around targets that were actually likely to be bombed instead of just loafing around Baghdad.

Guess that was more than they bargained for!

Interesting to see that the "human shield" principle only applies to being on camera, no in the way of bombs. What's the point of the whole exercise, if you pack it in?

chodadog 03-02-2003 06:06 AM

Ian...

"Oh my god. i might actually die! It's not worth getting leg over with this left wing chick! i'm outta here!"

bhutocracy 03-02-2003 06:10 AM

It's not like they've all left.
There were a few who never intended to stick around, wanted to go over to show solidarity with the Iraqi people for a few weeks and come back, if the war started then they were out of luck, if not, then, they made an effort I guess.
Not all are going as human shields.. some people are just going over and living with Iraqi families..

I still respect the conviction of someone going over to Iraq with the threat of war looming any week, moreso than someone mouthing off behind a keyboard. Same with someone pro-war actually enlisting and going over to fight.

I'm just saying that they didn't all intend to stay for months.. I saw a few who were going over for a couple of weeks.. I thought they were all hardcore human shield types before that, but it's a mixed bag of people doing different things, you'd only be amused by reports of some of them leaving if you didn't pay attention beforehand.

XXXManager 03-02-2003 06:58 AM

I also admire their 2 weeks conviction. We could all build a better world with such a strong conviction :1orglaugh One hell of an effort on behalf of these guys and girls :thumbsup hehe
About their intentions.. Aren't this movement CALLED HumanShield?? and NOT "LivingAndHavingSomeFunWithIraqiFamilies"?

They didn't intend to stay? :1orglaugh Its kind of hard to be a human-Shield on remote control - don't you think?
As I said - hippies :) And the dumb kind.

PS. Its very easy to support and admire them behind a keyboard :thumbsup

That's one decision I'll give Iraq some credit for.

I saw an interview with a few of them, they was jumping and down having a great time because they had a brand new apartment and a fridge full of FOOD!!!! How exciting it was for them.

One was interviewed on MSNBC and he was preaching the evil of the US and going on and on about how evil we were.

When he was asked if he says the same thing to the Iraqis who killed the Kurds with chemicals and executions and such.

"I'm not here (Baghdad) to make a political statement" was his answer.

:disgust

Typical bullshit from hippie faggots with no real direction. They just hopped on board the peace train, and didn't care where it was going.

:BangBang:

I'm sure all the crack and weed intake misconfigured their direction...

Damnit, this was a perfect opportunity for Darwin to claim more of his own.

Musta been the crack, I smoke a lot of pot an have no intention of risking my life for Saddam. Or rather pretending I'm going to risk my life, then going home.

From that article:

"Once in Iraq, members of the convoy will identify targets for bombing, such as power stations, key bridges and roads, and deploy themselves as human shields in the glare of the international media. "

hahahaha, the hippie protestors were full of shit, what a suprise.

It's kind of like hunger strikers suddenly deciding they'll have a Big Mac after all since they might become undernourished.

It just shows what a pathetic bunch of losers these peaceniks are. I'm not pro-war, but I haven't heard a single useful idea out of the lot of 'em. If someone would propose some way of getting nuclear, bio, and chem weapons out of the hands of someone as untrustworthy as Saddam Hussein, I'm sure a lot of people in the US government would love to hear it.
