Newsgroups, content licenses and promotion

I recently purchased some content and I could SWEAR I remember reading that they approved of adding your URL to the pictures for use in newsgroups. Now I can't figure out who it was I bought the content from.

So, are there any content providers out there that allow legitimate newgroup postings with images licensed from them? By legitimate, I mean pictures posted once or twice in on-topic newsgroups, not mass spam.

So you bought some content and can't figure out who it was from? Time to throw it out and go back to square one.

Seriously, any pictures, movies or video tapes that you can't make a direct connection to the license is no more than wank material. This is a "proceed at your own risk" business...

It isn't that I can't connect the content to the provider. I can't connect the provider to the license that allows the newsgroup postings. I've been through a half dozen licenses tonight and I still haven't figured out which one had it. There was a whole section dedicated to it and now I can't find it. I am starting to wonder if it was some sponsor's free contentlicense or something. It's driving me a little nuts.

Jayson,
Thanks for the information. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm out buying content :)
