My assessment of the tonights fight
 

I watched the fight tonight and it went as I expected with one exception and that exception was...I thought Ruiz would be more aggressive.

I thought Ruiz's only chance of winning the fight was to be aggressive and stay on top of Jones and he failed to do this and allowed Jones to fight his fight.

There really wasn't much difference in size. Three inches in height and a few inches in reach and 25 lbs in weight. To me that is not a big disparity, as these differences are not uncommon in the heavy weight division and are not always a factor. Roy Jones's skill and Ruiz's lack of skill and aggressiveness was the big factors in tonights fight.

Some that I watched the fight with tonight are saying that Roy Jones could conquer the heavy weight division. I don't agree. I do think there are more mediocre heavy weights that Roy Jones could beat but I doubt that he could beat any of the big names in the heavy weight division and I doubt that he will try. My :2 cents:
