Big Obamacare Problem??

Discuss.....

Quote:

Will Sheehan claims that when he tried to sign up for Obamacare and then register to opt out, he received an ominous warning. Sheehan?s full Facebook post reads;

?I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 ?Silver Plan? and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I ?opt-out? and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the ?REPERCUSSIONS PORTION? for ?non-payment? of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with ?Non-Payment? and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy ?Automatically withdraw? your ?penalties? weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is ?Free? or even ?Affordable.?

Bump for obama!

Seems like a pretty big problem to me. You should let Fox News know about this because they'd all spontaneously orgasm while on the air.

Rochard 10-05-2013 09:18 PM

This is all bullshit: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...le-obamacare-/

This is the problem with the internet. Any jackass can make shit up and post it, and then more jackasses repost it without verifying it.

That's weird, because they have $0 yearly deductible plans for less than that in Florida (through Blue Cross). You can go to http://www.bcbsfl.com/ and see for yourself. Keep in mind, Florida is an anti-ObamaCare state that sued to not participate, so there certainly isn't anyone in the state legislature trying to help out.

I smell BS and there is going to be a lot more of it coming out in the coming months.

There will be no shortness of this coming from the anti-ACA crowd. They'll repeat anything negative that they hear and refuse to believe anything good that they hear. There are certainly flaws in the legislation, but nowhere near what people make it out to be. In fact, many of the things they argue against are made up in the first place.

The death panels are a great example. For the majority of people, it will still be private insurance. Nobody went around calling insurance companies death panels in the past, even though they had annual and lifetime limits (now illegal under ObamaCare) and did such things as only approving certain drugs at certain times for cancer treatment.

So you get a fine for not buying a private companies product? You don't buy it you are a criminal. Why not make it a law that you have to buy a Ford. If not you get a fine or buy a new apple iPhone or you get a fine.
Same shit . Illegal, unconstitutional and Unamerican.
They can't pass a law that violates the constitution.
It violates the 4th and 5th amendments.
4th to be secure in you documents(you don't have to share them with anybody)
5th the right to remain silent(in order to sign up for anything you have to speak, but you have the right to remain silent)
my advice, shut up, ignore it, don't give any information. let it fail and vote out the democrats until they repeal it.

If you had paid attention to the Supreme Court ruling you would know it is not a fine, it is a tax; which is why they can do it.

I know what they said and that is the stupidest logic anyone has ever heard calling it a tax.
Hey, you got caught speeding. It's not a fine it's a tax.
Yeah, a tax that starts at 100 dollars and goes up to 6% of your gross income. Yeah, Sounds like a tax to me.

You legally are required to have car insurance. You are legally required to carry homeowners insurance.

DTK 10-06-2013 06:56 PM

I'm not even a big Obamacare fan, but when I see jagoffs like mromro still claiming it's unconstitutional, I just think.....jagoff.

But he's not alone..I saw some TBag congressman/senator say the same on the floor a week or so ago.

The lender requires you have homeowners. If you own your home outright you aren't required.

As far as auto is concerned it's not comparable and a cop out. You are required to have LIABILITY insurance that covers other people and their property, not you and yours.

Allow me to play devil's advocate.

Shouldn't it be required that people can prove that they can take care of themselves in the event of a medical emergency so that everyone else doesn't have to pick up the bill for them?

If you choose not to get health insurance (or show that you are financially able to handle paying a minimum amount out of pocket) and then have some kind of major health problem and you run up a big bill that you can't pay the likely result is that the tax payers will end up paying for it. Is that fair?
