Isn't trying to kill people called Attempted Murder? Assault is when you hit someone, firing a handgun at them 19 times is a little more than assault, surely?

Assault as in Assault and Battery is verbal and Battery is physical. Firing a handgun is not usually attempted murder.

Just pointing a gun at someone is assault, even if it is not loaded, so long as it elicits a fear of harm. http://injury.findlaw.com/torts-and-...f-assault.html Since the shooter claimed he was shooting "just behind" the fleeing car, the charge is likely to stick where attempted murder would not.

Notice they took his name off the company website where he was office manager and franchise owner real fast. Good call on their part.

Assault is Verbal, Battery is Physical and firing a hand gun at someone is 9 times out of 10 Attpemted Murder or Agg battery

Assault= " Im going to beat your ass " Person has fear the offender will beat their ass.

Battery = " Offender beats their ass " Person gets ass beat. Physically.

In most states in the US.

For Canada.

Assault = " Eh Hoser "

Battery = " take other person beer "
