What''s up with that? I read on NY Times that around 2000000 public workers will be left without a job... that can't be good

2000000? nope, just 600 000 i heard.

Not as iff they will never work again. And they usually get paid anyway once its all back and running, so basically a free holiday no?

It's a shame that hard working men and women must suffer because of Republicans' and Democrats' big ego... I read more and I even though i don't live in the USA I can bet than if it wasn't for the Obamacare there would probably be another reason to play bully or tough from their warm Senate chair while others don't have $$ to put food on their tables ...

Its a paid vacation. Happened before and will happen again. They get some time off and get a big fat check when they go back.

Agreed. In addition, people seem to forget where their salaries come from.

Gov't cannot give to one, which it has not taken from another.

That may require the government to actual follow the US Constitution. Something it largely hasn't done for 90 years; which I argue is the reason we find ourselves with this mess of a quasi Communist / Fascist government model. Both parties find it very expedient to not follow the Constitution except for when the other party isn't. Americans are so dependent on the government both financially and mentally, they no longer appreciate what freedom is really is.
