Hosting videos
 

I'd like to start hosting some of the videos and use them on my wordpress sites. like 3-5 minutes ones. Before I was only embedding them from sponsors.

Whats the best way to do this ?

I was thinking of either buy an account @ some CDN and embed them from there to my WP sites using flowplayer.

Another idea was to just upload them to the dedicated server i've got my WP sites on and embed them using flowplayer. But not sure if it's not too heavy for the server.

Any tips ?

I have no problem running them from my server through Wordpress, don't see why this would be an issue for you or anyone else.

Depends on your traffic volume and the strength of your server I guess

Depending on the amount of videos,, visitors, length of the video and your amount of bandwidth.

A dedicated box should be able to handle it if it is a good one. Then you have bandwidth and port speed. If you port speed is 10mbps then you are sure going to be problems. For video streaming i would suggest a 1 gbps port. Also enough monthly bandwidth as videos can burn away a lot of bandwidth.
